1sr yes this is my first post to the board, but I have owned my A-5 for over 2 years and know the A-5 inside and out. Thus far stock internals, Flatline, E-grip, M4 stock.
My main question is how well does the Qev, Vortex, Rampage,(all ordered) work with the Flatline, can the flatline handle the increase in BPS??? Next is aluminum power tube worth getting??? I would like to here from people who have actually seen or have had broken stock power tubes. Does the Qev, Vortex, Rampage cause more power tubes to fail??? Getting the Tippmann Exp Chamber will it help from freezing due high volume of automatic fire??? (I know about the palmer stablizer but I don't have the cash? I have seen many videos online of the Qev, Vortex, Rampage running and must say, I am extremly impressed. With these upgrades feel free to list anything else I might need. |

QEV and Vortex just speed up the Cyclone...Rampage just makes the sear go faster increaseing fire-rate, If you are THAT worried about your power tube, pop in a aircraft aluminum one.

why does everyone think that the vortex speeds up your cyclone...
revoxt you dont even have it so how do you know i have a qev and the
vortex the vortex just makes it so your cyclone operates at a lower
pressure... so when your tank is low the cyclone stays on tell almost
the end of the tank

The barrel doesn't care how fast you shoot. That is a myth.

Thanks for your assumption of thinking, I am under the impression of the Vortex speeding things up, but I do not. My main reason for adding it in the thread was due to the fact I have ordered it. Now that I am forced to explain myself, from what I have read and have heard from other actual A-5 users, is that the Vortex has better internal cyclone parts. Knowing that the increase BPS from THE QEV & RAMPAGE, I thought I would upgrade all internals just in case the stock plastic internals could not take increase in speed. Rambino thanks for answering my question plain and simple. Edited by Shatter - 11 September 2006 at 7:49pm |

I was under the impression that the Vortex mod was a ratchet replacement, because the stock ratchet wears out fairly quickly under prolonged high-speed firing. I had no idea it also reduces the cyclone's operating pressure. A bonus if I may say!

Ricwhic414.. if you read on the OFFICAL TechT website they say it increases BPS....lol Here is a quote JUST FOR YOU RICWHIC! From the offical website "Our testing has shown that the Vortex Mod will allow the Cyclone feed to work at lower pressures, feed faster, and last longer than the stock internals. While stock cyclone internals need to be replaced on a regular basis, the Vortex Mod is a permanent solution that makes the cyclone into the fastest, and most reliable loader available."
"The Vortex will feed upwards to 25-26 balls per second and continue to load to pressures as low as 200psi. Stock parts only feed up to 15 BPS and only down to 400 psi." |

Technically they already proved the Vortex speed on their website since they ALREADY have a video, but yeah, I'll make one eventually. Then I'll strap a digital camera onto my Flatline and do a first-person camera view paintball match :-P
