Found all of these in one package and ordered it last week. Should be on the doorstep sometime tomorrow. Pretty excited about the QEV and the APE board, but concerned about installing the Vortex Mod. Disassembly of the Cyclone has me a little leary. Suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I just put in my vortex mod and it was alot easier than i thought. just take your time man its pretty straight forward, i just found a problem with the pins they give you. I had to use one of my stock ones and i swear its gonna slip out. and take out the spring first cause that goes flying lol. |

I'm not up to the level of popping open the cyclone... that lil sucker has tons of things in it.. I'm wayyy to scared on account of that.

Yo honestly its super easy, its just the pins that come with it dont fit very well. and theres hardly anything that makes the cyclone up man its a pretty basic design i find. Just take your time and youll be cool. i did it and i havent owned mine for much longer than my sign up date to this forum just pop the bottom off and check it out, its not to hard at all

I took my cyclone apart to give it a clean, it had a fair amount of paint oozing out (dunno how so much got in...)
It was fairly easy and didnt have too much trouble putting it back together. As long as nothing decides to spring out and dissapear, you should be fine. |

I popped it open just now just to get a look..What would spring out and dissapear? I see ONE big spring that goes into the plastic and then hits the rotor, and I think there is a small spring inside that ratchet but you can only get that to come out if you poke it out

yeah the only thing that will fly out is that peice you see going to the rotor. and there is another spring but like what u said u need to take out a pin and youll have to take it out for the vortex mod Edited by little devil - 12 September 2006 at 8:31am |

The spring that was going to the rotor didn't spring out at all... guess I'm lucky?

Just got the marker back together with all mods and test fired it briefly in the back yard. Holy $#&@ does this thing rip now! Couldn't play with all the APE board settings because I live in the city and don't need the neighbors panicking about some guy with a gun shooting it off and calling the cops. I can't wait to see the looks on the faces of the guys with shockers and angels when I get them on the business end of this. <evil maniacal laughter>

High-End Electro marker owners do doubt the power of Tippmanns.. Stock they are horrible, that's a given.. but it you put money into them...it's rather easy to take on the "big dogs" My key to winning is my R\T... the high-end electro's can only ramp, not go full auto, so I have full auto as a way to get out of hot-spots or just do massive cover fire. I had way to many problems with electronic spyders so I am staying away from electro's for awhile.

On the field the ramp limit is normally 15BPS...so no, maybe on your field they allow more but here they don't.. I'm pretty sure tourny's are actually capped at 15 now as well.. which renders the Angel's ability to shoot 40-45+ paintballs everywhere kinda useless

R\T Technicallly isn't "ramping? ramping is classified as an electronic mode that's why they allow it. Besides, most R\TS can't go over 13bps anyway because most people here don't know anything about the Super R\T, QEV, or Vortex

i have a stock R/T, and i cronoed my gun with the flow control screw 2 threads out(almost all in), and i was hitting 11-12 bps. i haven't, nor will i ever, try it fully open, but my guess is that it'll EASILY hit 16-17 bps. |

A stock R\T will not go 16-17.... I have never heard of a stock R\T going OVER 13bps... If anyone actually has, please tell me.

They say to NEVER use the stock pins.. "The pin that is included with the Vortex mod is designed specifically to combine the piston rod and ratchet. DO NOT USE THE STOCK RATCHET PIN." |
