Can you guys show me tips (maybe pictures) on how to hold a gun properly? I am thinking about getting an A-5.

Welcome to the forum.  Ignore the unhelpful posters above.

How to hold the gun depends on what kind of game you are playing, what kind of equipment you have, what position or role you are playing, what you are doing at the moment, your personal preferences, and the fashion of the moment.

So you will have to provide some description of what you play first.

But general advice - don't think of the gun as a firearm.  If you like holding the gun like a rifle, that's fine, but you don't have to.  Paintball guns don't have recoil and don't weigh much, and you are usually shooting at close enough range that sights are unnecessary.

As a result, you don't NEED to brace the gun against your shoulder, you don't NEED to line up the sights with you eyes.  You may choose to, but it isn't required.

Specifics obviously vary, but you will find that many paintballers hold the gun much higher than a firearm.  Aiming is mostly down the side of the barrel, if there is aiming at all.  Most of time (unless I am laying down, behind a low obstacle, or otherwise maintaining a low profile) I hold my gun so high that the barrel is basically level with my eyes.  You may not choose to do that - but just remember that this isn't a firearm, and you don't have to hold it like one.

But if you provide some specifics on your game, I am sure folks will provide plenty of suggestions and advice on the subject.

Its all preference. But when playing speedball their is form to help you keep a lower profile. And if you go through the PBstar.com galleries you can look how each player holds his/her marker. With the A-5 though you cannot look down he side of the barrel therefore you will not be able to do have the best form, unless you go lefty.
