So, I graduated yesterday for USMC Recruit Training at Parris Island, SC.

I'll be hanging around here for a little while until they decide what to do with me, I got a hernia during BWT and I am supposed to get surgery for it sometime, but they don't know when. I swear military doctors have got to be the worst in the world, they can't even make up thier minds about where to send me.

But anyways, if you have any questions about recruit training ask away..

I'll try to answer as best as possible. I might even post some pics up later.

It's not that bad, they let me do the Crucible with it. So obviously they think that I am good to go. As long as I have motrin I am fine.

You won't do anything close to what we did in the Army. All Army recruit training is low stress now, the Drill Instructors can't even yell at the recruits. Also the recruits are allowed to have cell phones to call home with.. The only phone calls home I got to make during my 4 months on Parris Island were when I got dropped...

At least you are serving your country. There are many out there that wouldn't lift a finger to protect your freedoms.

welcome home! I graduated April 14 from that place. What is your MOS going to be? Are you going to Basic Marine Platoon or are they giving you extended leave. What battaltion and company did you start there with and what battalion and company did you leave with? What were the Drill Instructors names? For what reasons were you dropped? I hope you dont end up missing bootcamp a whole lot. I did. Then I had a reality check and realized its not fun.

Kristofer, they were talking about putting me in BMP but it doesn't look like that is happening. My orders send me to Camp Gieger on the 17th for MCT, so I guess they forgot about me needing surgery in the first place. I am going to stop in my recruiters office on Tuesday and see if they can tell me what I am supposed to do, maybe I can get put on convelesent leave until I get the trash fixed.

But anyways, I shipped with Bravo Company Platoon 1074 on June 19. I got dropped training day 0 from there because I messed up my arm in recieving. From there I went to Kilo Co Plt. 3083 SDI GySgt Ellis, DI SSgt Curlett, and DI SSgt Johnson. I got dropped for my hernia on training day 55 to EHP, for evalution and surgery. At EHP I was told that I could complete training, and get surgery after training was over. They told me that if I completed the Crucible with Charlie Co, I could go back to Kilo and graduate with them. So they sent me to Plt. 1081 for a week with SDI Sgt. Wells, DI Sgt. Thompson, and DI Sgt. Williams. So I did the crucible with them and graduated with Kilo the next week.

Yep, there was a article in the paper about it around here not to long ago. Google it.

welcome back man and congrats on getting through boot.

1st word of advice get your insurance changed over. im not sure about active duity but i know as a dependant you can get changed form tricare prime to tricare standard. basicly its the same but with standard you pay a little more (still a cap of 1k a year) BUT you can see civilan doctors. millatary doctors are butchers and they take FOREVER to get you in for anything.

2nd word is put money away for a house.

if your around next weekend mabe we can toss some paint at FT. E.
