98C internal air leak

My cousins' tippy has an internal air leak somewhere but im having trouble tracking it.  I think it may be in the powerfeed but how would I check since the gun has to be together to put co2 to it?

First off, I have worked on alot of guns and this is the 3 98c in our group.  Ive had mine for 4 years and never a single problem.  Second Im a network admin and I look at forums all day long and know how to do search.  I also looked at the diagram and meant to say powertube but misstyped.  Its smartass guys like you that make it hard for anyone to get a direct answer cuz you assume to damn much instead of asking and treat everyone like there inferior.  Hey everyone hasnt had this gun or that gun as long as you but if you dont want to help then keep your trap shut and let someone else post something constructive.

Even with all that the only reason a powertube should leak is if it has a crack around the valve. Which is very VERY rare. EDIT: scratch that, the powertube should not even be able to leak.

It could be where the airline connects to the valve, it could be that the hammer is just pushing the valve open alittle bit, it could be a bad o ring seal in the valve, or it could just be junk in the valve/need to be oiled.

Sure he was kinda harsh, but he put in some good qustions that need to be answered in order for anyone to help.

Okay well you are going to meet tons of people on these forums that are going to stick up for Bruce cause he has been there for most of us in the past and helped us when we were noobs.

He and Rambino are the people I listen to the most and I even search up things they say because they have answers to most or almost any problems and questions.  When you get an answer from them you know you have been well advised.  Now people on these forums are constantly asking dumb questions, dey is not usein propuer anlaish wards, they don't read the stickies, they don't read the manual, they think that we will spoon-feed every answer to them, they make it difficult for people to try and help them, some of them even think they know a lot - that last part makes me laugh.

I admit that Bruce has seemed to be a little snappy recently.  But don't think you know more than he does and you shouldn't even imagine that you ever will (about Tippmann guns) and a lot of other things too. You might doubt that but that’s because you aren’t smart enough to even know.

Although he might have been rude - if you want help here stop whining and answer our questions before we can answer yours! Plus don’t diss Bruce cause then no one will help you.

I would recommend he get an Ion also. Nice marker, plenty of upgrades now, and when he asks for help on the Ion Group, even though his question has been addressed and definitive answered three thousand times, he will probably receive nothing but hugs an kisses.

Mok_Star, on the field I'm the guy they come to when their marker malfunctions. I carry complete tools, "O" rings, and many replacement parts in my kit and everyone knows I'll help and lend them parts if needed. I'll help to the point of missing several games in a row.

On the field, I get asked for suggestions on marker operation, paint, hoppers and so on by kids who are absolutely new to the sport. I answer what I can and point them to others who can help.

I am patient to an extreme, but I don't tolerate, very well, kids who don't listen and ask again the same question (and I've answered) they have asked three times before.

On these Tippmann Forums I have answered more than 2400 questions (a small number compared to some of the long time knowledgeable people here). Many/most questions have been answered before. I have spent hours crafting a word picture to try and clarify a solution and have spent  equal time created drawings with labels to actually further explain the words. I have gone out on the web and pulled up pictures and text or linked to them after spending the time on Google to provide results. I actually bought a digital camera so that I could provide clearer and more easily uploaded pictures to the forums. I do searches in the forums to locate and link both my posts and other peoples posts to provide the answers to people who won't go to the trouble read the manual.

There have been times recently when I began to think I am suffering burnout and stayed away from the Forums for a week to two weeks at a time. I venture back and see the same-old same-old.

The forums, at least this one and the "Upgrades" one, are not just chat rooms. They are an absolute fountain of information with a depth  that would take years to acquire from just an individual's experience. There are thousands of topics. The only time I have seen a short-fall in formation was when the propane powered marker came out. It was just too new to have created a data base yet.

Searches will produce results. The extra reading required to slog through the innumerable posts that are found provide additional info that is beneficial to one's more fully understanding of the  marker. Clearly I am irritated by those who want a detailed explanation because they are not willing or made only a cursory attempt to research a topic. Lately I have been criticized because I told someone how to research his question, and he implied that I was lazy and unwilling to help. Not in this question, but I also am irritated by those who think leetspeak is a good way to ask a technical question who then get sarcastic when I ask for the English translation.

Now to address specifically my short-tempered-ness of late...due to circumstances beyond my control I have not been able to play paintball for FIVE MONTHS now. I have a new Cheetah board for my hopper and a new upgrade board for my E-Bolt, but with my mother in law visiting for the last month I have not even had the spare time to install these new toys. But, if you can't take a little bluntness, if your coach has never yelled at you, if you quit the team when he did, you are too thin-skinned for the give and take of virtually any informational forum discussion.

Then, is it over-reacting when someone  hasn't even bothered to try to find the part name? How is one supposed to translate the part called a "thingie?" Next week we are scheduled to play speedball. afterwards, I may not be less brusk when its called for, but I may be able to resist making it into an art form.

It really doesnt help that "powerfeed" is an actual part that can be put on a tippmann.

Tippmann customer support is one of the best in the business. This forum is not customer support, and is no way related to customer support other than it is part of the tippmann site.

Also... So you have to have a "high end" gun to be good at a sport. Not that you can upgrade a "low end" gun to make it better? Thats just retarded. Pro-lite? holy crap how long has it been since you played?

I agree that Tippmann has good customer support I over-tightened my valve and stripped the screws that go into it. I then, feeling awfully stupid for deciding to take a marker down to the basics, phoned Tippmann and they sent me a new valve, red loctite, and new valve screws- no questions asked. the order got to me a week later.

    this to me is good customer service, but i haven't got to
    talk to any friends about how Smart Parts customer service
    is, but I'd guess its pretty good if they're selling ions to noobs.
