Check your TCP/IP settings, because your router may not have DHCP
enabled, or it has some sort of security thing on it that may or may
not involve mac addresses (I doubt it), or you have a dead nic.
Try to ping it, ping 127.0.0.1, if you can't, it's a hardware issue,
not a software issue. Also there SHOULD be network drivers on the
cd that came with the mobo, so look there again.

Sounds like there's something wrong with your drivers.

Okay right click on my computer, click manage, go to system
tools>device manager, then click on network adapters, write down
EXACTLY what it says for your nic, then do a google search for "blah
blah blah drivers". For mine I would do "nvidia nforce networking controller" driver
And then you should be able to find it. Or you can also do this one thing while you're in computer management, make sure the installation disc is in the drive, go back to the device manager, right click on the name of the nic, and click update driver, see if that helps, becuase it might somehow find it then. You should be able to go here, click Platform/nForce drivers, find your motherboard, pick your operating system, and download them.
