Can you say....Strip Club ! I'm just kidding! What type of paintball do you plan to play? Woods, speed or both? What gun feels good in your hands? Last, what gun looks good to you? Wow, I guess picking a gun is like going to strip club!

umm, don't go to wal-mart ... and ... all the opposite of the guy above me said...

Okay so really.  Wal-mart is a good place to shop, you can get a 98 custom ACT or other tippmanns but they don't offer many other good guns (that I've seen).  I have never seen a decent mask there either. They have never had much selection.

You could get a 98 Custom though and it would be under $300.  Just if you get into paintball make sure wal-mart isn't the be all and end-all - were you get all of your supplies.

I'd buy a SL-68 II, JT ProFlex, 12oz tanks, Ronin Gear Harness, BE pocket hopper, pack from WalMart and 2 500 count paintball cases. I'd use the rest for field entry, CO2 refills, stickers, etc.

yah go on the internet.

For the prices your looking at, all fast guns need HPA, like the ion, etc.

But the 98s/A5s dont need them.  So

A5- $200?  isnt there a -$20 on them or something?

20oz- $25

Mask/pods/harness- $60ish

and theres $285

If it's your first gun, I'd say go with a Custom 98, try to find one on Ebay with a aftermarket Barrel and a mask & tank set up. Probally find oen with a harness and some pods.

But for your first gun A Custom 98 is the sure way to go. Then later on you can move up to other guns. But learn your basics from the 98. Stay away from Stocks and other Gizmos untill you are comfortable with your 98 and your shooting.

98 custom,12 OZ. Co2., grav. feed, and thats only like 200, so I'd get a really nice mask like E-vents.

Oh and an nXe 2 pod pack. That's only like $15.

Thinking about it...

hmmmm, well that isn't enough for the stuff I like gun wise. But a new mask, and entry and paint money for awhile playing with one of my pumps would last some time
