Topic: Best Barrel (A-5)Posted: 03 December 2006 at 11:40pm |

Ok so I have done research on a bunch of different barrels for the A-5 and anything that can thread into an A-5 with any sort of adapter. But I want a live players opinon as to which barrel is best. I have some picks as followed : Apex, Flatline, Lapco Big Shot, Dye Proto, Smart Parts Progressive. Now I am a woodsballer that plays some speedball. Can anyone give me a solid answer? Much appreciated.

There's a barrel called "Search." It has everything you want in a barrel.

I would go with a JJ Ceramic. They're affordable barrels that perform well with various paints. It also shoots through breaks like a wonder.

If you have truly done your research, this thread wouldn't be nessasary. There are tons of threads just like this and we have given the same exact answers time after time, and i guess ill do it again. Range-increasing barrel of choice: BT Apex. Traditional one-piece barrel: Lapco Bigshot or J&J Ceramic. <$100 barrel kit: J&J Edge. >$100 barrel kit: Smart Parts Freak or Stiffi Switch. Edited by Yomillio - 05 December 2006 at 7:54pm |

Ok thanks for the input. What are your thoughts on the flatline with a shroud? Cause I think that's what I'm going to be picking up. I've seen first hand how it fires and used one before and loved it. So I don't need stats and all that. just personal prefrences. Thanks.

Personally I am not much on Flatlines. The Extra range isn't very useful anyways. But if you are looking into the flatline, I would also suggest looking into the Apex. It is alot less picky about paint, and is more versitile.

you can clean the apex as easy as any other barrel on the field
just paint will get stuck uptop so after you finish for the day spend 20 seconds running water through it using your sink |

Is there anyway to put the apex head onto a flatline? Or would the apex just ruin the back spin caused by the flatline?

if you put the apex tip on the flatline your balls will come back and hit you.
