    Posted: 10 December 2006 at 5:50am
So my old 98(one o' the gilled suckers) has been down and out for many moons because the wire that connects the 12 volt battery has become unglued from the firing board for my Psycho Ballistics Electro Pneumatic Kit(the earlier ones that came with the micro rocks...I think I remember them cheaping them up later...).

Well I finally got off my ass and got a job so nows I gots me cash moneys to spend on her and I'm wonderin a couple of things(In order of importance);
#1. How do I fix my board? And would running longer wires muck things up for the 98?
#3. Been thinkin` about rigging up a cyclone on my 98, the only thing I'd have to mod would be getting a valve with that rt hole and drilling a hole in the side on my gun body... no sweat, but would my gun have to be tuned because of what I seem to remember was a low pressure valve(lowered spring tension for the E-Kit)?
#3. Could I possibly put a better board in there? And how would I go about doing it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bump for you lethargic, useless, stupid, jackasses who're holding out on me! Come on, one of you trick ass marks has to know something on the subject!

EDIT: Come on, help a brotha' out. If I can get past this damned minor electrical problem I'm going to start on a project(maybe it could even be called a divine journey) to make the sickest 98 known to man(set up for speed and woods).
To help you jackasses get motivated to help me here's some things I'm gonna do to her:
-as I have an electro pneumatic tippy, as opposed to most of yous punks and your dirty sear trippers, I'm going to move the grip frame up on the speed setup
-extensive body modification for the speed setup
-Cyclone(on a 98 classic?! I'm not sure if it'll work, I see no reason it shouldn't)
-I'm going to rig an ACT system into her(And yes I've taken into consideration the obstacles of incorporating it into a 98 classic on top of incorporating it into an electro pneumatic 98 classic)
-I'm going to try to rig an RT into her(not sure if I can do this... I need to learn more about air pressure and if my valve, which is LP, can generate enough blowback to make the RT operate)
-I'm possibly going to install a new board... I dunno about this one because when my 98 was operational she was ridiculously fast.
-A plethora of barrel choices, which I've always lacked, but didn't really need them as I somehow stumbled upon what could be considered the Excalibur of paintball barrels by chopping a stock 98 barrel in half with a pipe cutter right where those holes are... for some reason beyond what anybody who saw it in action could comprehend this barrel shot further than my flatline(we think it could reach as far, possibly further, as 300 ft as was what looked to be the the length of the longest field it was ever used on)and still chronied correctly... but in the endless pile of crap I used to live in it was sadly lost... damnit.... off topic(if you choose to believe me and don't just write my story off as just some drug induced false memory)
-etc.

As far as the woods setup I was going to make it an m4 mockup but now with that new .68 cal magazine fed m4 gun RAP just came out with I think I'ma jus gwone to buy one of those, so now I think I'm gonna make it look like a tommy or an m249.... not sure.

<chikun continues rambling about things that'll probably never happen until those reading his malarkey give up and decide to help him with his electronics problem....you bastards...>

#1: You just need to solder the wire back onto the board... this has happened to my kits several times.  There is a section with 4 points that the wires connect to, locate the one that no longer has a wire going to it and attach the wire to that.  Use a soldering iron/gun to melt the solder and submerge the end of the wire (exposed part) into the solder and pull away the iron/gun.  In less than a second, the solder will be solidified again and you can test your gun.  I like to put a big glob of hot glue on this section after I am sure it is working properly to try and keep everything secure.  Just be careful when taking the gun apart, they do come off rather easily.

#2: I have thought about doing the same thing, but I would rather use electronic hoppers than the cyclone. All you need to do is drill a hole where the 98 Custom has the hole for the cyclone.  I do not know exactly where it gets the gas from, but you MIGHT need to use a valve/powertube combo from a 98 Custom to get it... I don't know because I specialize in the old gilled Model 98s.  The old kit used a low pressure valve spring, I am not sure how much this will affect a cyclone, but it sure can't help.

#3:  You could put another board on there if you wanted.  You just need to find a board from another electro-pneumatic gun that will fit into the grip, and rig it to work with the 98 system.  But why bother?  Unless you 2-way the ram, you are not going to get more than 13bps... which I find is plenty anyway.
