i have a stock tippman A5 (i do plan on upgrading some of it) and it seems that every other shot is innacurate.  I was shooting at a tree and every other shot hit while the other shots curved. can anyone tell me why and what i need to do to fix this

Exactly every other shot?  Or some shots are just more/less accurate than others?

First check for breaks - barrel, breech, Cyclone.

Is this a recent problem, or was it like this out of the box?

I would try a new barrel. Go with a Lapco bigshot or a J&J ceramic to start with. The stock barrel is not that great. Also what brand and what condition are the paintballs you use?

i bought bad paintballs becuase i only wanted to have a few for testing the gun (i plan on replacing the barrel so i didnt want to get paintballs that wouldnt fit the new barrel...and i didnt have much money on me at the time)  I was shooting out of the stock barrel and yes this problem was occuring out of the box.  it seemed to me like it was exactly every other shot

Roll your paintballs on  a flat surface or just look at them. If they are ovaled or have dimples, they are going to shoot terribly.

Bad paint, poor air supply, high velocity, wind.

Try some better paint and make sure your velocity isnt to high.  Also check for junk in the barrel.
