Ive had my tippmann 98 custom for a little while now and its a great gun, shoots fine and everything but now that they have the a.c.t in the guns, Im thinking about upgrade to a 98 custom with a.c.t. or a custom pro with a.c.t.

Now my question is, which would be the better investment, the 98 custom or the custom pro?? I dont care about the better barrel on the custom pro because I would just get a flatline barrel anyway, but I like the already installed double trigger, which if I got the 98 custom, I would get a double trigger for it anyway. So whats everyone think??

Keep your 98c and put a Cyclone on it. You can get a Cyclone feeding at 20 BPS with no chops, and it's cheaper than buying a new gun.

Just my $.02

I don't mean to hicjack this thread, but what I'm about to say is completly on topic and people that answer my question will be answering the above guys question as well.  So don't get mad at me...

I've been thinking about doing the same thing as he wants to do...  Get an 98 ACT and switching all of my parts from my 98 Custom to the 98 ACT.

Right now I'm working on my building my woodsball gun.  I've got Super RT, QEV, Vortex, Lightening Rod.  Plus many other upgrades (yes even internals).  I've done mods I have sights the flatline, I have the Apex with shroud being shipped here as you are reading this.  But the most important part of this gun is not only that it looks sweet but also that it performs well (I am also getting a Palmers Stab soon -- right now I only have an ex-chamber).

I am hoping to get the fastest Super RT paintball guns possible.   I heard that the ACT slows down the cycle rate a bit.  Is this true?

--- Take into account I have had chops in my Cyclone (Yes, I was running out of air and using my Super RT at full speed with CO2 and I don't have the Vortex or the lightening rod installed yet).  But still I want a fast woodsgun and I don't want any chops.

I would keep the 98 Custom and then ebolt it to have a speedball 98, after I'm finished working on my woodsball 98 ACT gun(that is if I did get ACT).

What do you guys think?

Nah its no big deal man. Im not gonna get mad because you have the same question I do. But yeah I thought about just keeping my gun and upgrading it but if the 98 custom with the a.c.t is alittle bit better then I could just sell my 98 custom and what not and then get a 98 custom with a.c.t.

Ya but you never get much for used Tippmanns, their re-sale is very low.

So you could make the older one a project... like ebolt, oh and add eyes and lots of other fun mods too, anyway with ebolt you don't need act.

So those are my thoughts. :)

Yeah Im not sure what Im going to do. Im thinking Ill just keep my 98c and upgrade and see how it goes since Ive already got a decent gun and everything. Or I may buy another 98c with the a.c.t. and have both and use them for different occasions or something I dont know, lol.

I keep my 98's because they are for the most part "bulletproof", and I could
never get back what I have in them, so why bother.

Keep them, cherish them ...

If I die, avenge me

And if anything loan them out to a friend so he/she can try one out and see how they like it.
