Hi. I currently have a 98c and want to upgrade it to an electronic trigger. I asked Tippmann about the triggers not been suitable for 98c's just the 98 Pros and they said aslong as its above 89000 serial number it should be fine (something to do with the internal mouldings I think). But anyway just wanting to know who I should go to to get an kit to convert from stock to electronic, so everything is needed. Thanks a lot to any replies or advice.

First, the E-Bolt is not just an electronic trigger, it converts the marker from a mechanical to a electro-pneumatic marker.

The only difference in the early model 98C and the late model 98C is the sear set up...going from a tension spring to a compression spring. The late model shell has a perch molded in the grip to supply a place for the spring to sit to push against the sear.

I have seen a early grip modified with a screwed-on perch to convert it allowing the owner to install the E-Trigger. It looked easy to do requiring only a drill and tap, a screw and a little hand fabricated perch for the spring...and the sear and spring.

Ok so if I were to make this part (sounds easy enough) which kit would you reccomend? Or is there a kit availabe to make it where there is a solenoid that activates and pushes a rod that then triggers the sear such as that seen here http://www.tippmann.com/product_guide/accesDetails.aspx?id=1 6

The Tippmann E-Trigger that fits the CP would be the one.

So, your saying that the compression sears mount the e-bolt, and the ones that pull the sear on one side mount the e-trigger?

What type of sear you have doesn't matter with the ebolt, because the ebolt does away with the sear all together. However, only the push/compression sears work with the etrigger.

As Karll said, no. The E-Bolt, as I said above, turns a 98C into a full fledged electro pneumatic paintball marker...just like an Angel. The pneumatic ram is controlled by an electric trigger which controls the gas solenoid...no mechanical sear or sear tripper. The original hammer is removed.
