my a-5 / ion

while i was gone to bmt and tech school.. a friend of mine went to somewhere house and they was selling everything.. he actually paid 5 bucks for that item.. cuz on the box it came w/ said deffective item. on it.. (and when i got it. only thing wrong w/ it.. was it needed new batteries)  so i told him  id give him 50 bucks right then and there. and i didnt care if it worked or not... he is the kind of guy that would just use it one time and forget that he had ever had it..  so now i can put it to good use.

^ he has the UMS offset adapter that is why it's so high.  I have one too but the plastic tends to crack. 

Anyway I think you should shave down the UMS adapter lower as well as the Richochet, it would cut off about a 1/2 inch total and I think it would improve the look.  If you do this when you recut the hole you can make the ingroves for the richochet insertion "nub" that keeps the two items toghether -- make them 1/8 inch over that way the plastic won't brake. That's one thing I suggest.

Also gluing thin foam layers that you get at micheals or even at the dollar store or even cloth to the inside of the richochet hopper to make it quieter cause it is pretty loud when running with paint.

Also get rid of the scope, maybe have a red dot sight if you really want something there.  (I suggest tasco 30mm or 42mm).

I also think that the ex-chamber doesn't seem to work with your set-up as it looks like you are trying to go milsim somewhat.  So I say if you can afford it - run air on the A-5 (you probably already have a tank for the ion anyway) and get rid of the expansion chamber.

Final re-mark for the a-5 is that I think a single trigger would like better on it, (if you are going for the mil-sim look).

Oh ya and a firepower upgrade like the RT or even the : Super RT with QEV and Vortex Mod and Lightening Rod, like I have would be awesome.

You could also get Rufus dawg internals if you have lots of money to blow.

For the ion new hopper (halo B, Reloader B, or Pulse) and whatever else you can get to make the marker faster, like: New board, QEV, new trigger, etc.  Maybe new feedneck too and if you really want you could get a new reg but the ion reg is normally pretty good anyway.  You could also get new grips, like Dye Sticky 3's if you want, also even an On/off ASA would be nice.

Oh and what type of barrel did you just get anyway? (for the ion)
