I was meandering about the local hardware/general store when a particular object caught my eye hanging behind the counter. It was a cocker. From the looks of it, it appears to be a two or three year old vert in great cosmetic condition. Id be much more interested in this marker if I knew I could operate it with CO2. I dont see the harm seeing as how its mech, but i have little knowledge when it comes to cockers so i thought this would be the place to ask. Thanks. |

Yes you can run it on CO2 without a problem, just a compressed air system is better. My brother has a 02 cocker and its been run on co2 for 4-5 years now without a single problem. |

CO2 will work fine on it, especially if it's mech.

You know nothing about cockers other than that they are guns. Don't give advice about them or tell more knowledgeable people than you that they are wrong. |

Yes, you can run C02 on a cocker, ive done it myself, but i would highly recommend some form of x-chamber or (my personal solution) an anti-siphon tube (its been so long i dont even know if they still make those)

Another option is a remote with the bottle in vertical position on your back. Although, if your a speedballer, this is not recommended. |

The ONLY way to run CO2 on post '99 autococker is to run an anti-siphon CO2 tank on the marker itself. The risk of sucking liquid CO2 into the maker even using a remote line or an x-chamber isn't something that you really want to do as it can cause some rather frustrating issues with the operation of the marker. ANY liquid CO2 that makes it past the Inline and LP regs will cause you to blow your LP lines going to the ram and the 3-way, not to mention that the cold effects of expanded co2 often wreak havoc on the operation of the 3-way due to the expansion of the o-rings around the stem. The performance of a late-model autococker is severely degraded by using CO2. That said, yes, you can run it on CO2, but it isn't suggested if you are trying to use a late-model 'cocker as the high-performance marker that it is. Possible, but not advisable.

My experience: I used to run my mech '04 Vert on CO2, unantisiphoned. Never had any problems. Of course, you do need a reg that will be abe to handle the CO2, and from my experience, the stock WGP regs to a pretty good job of that. No trouble on my end like freezes or bursts of microline. The reg did get pretty cold though... As for $400, I don't need to do a thing. He's entirely self-pwning. Edit: I do gotta say, he's kept his cool. More than I can say for a lot of people. Props for that. Edited by DeTrevni - 14 February 2007 at 11:17pm |

The man knows what he's talking about. Seen cockers rock on Co2. But it was an anti-siphon tank through a regulator capable of using Co2. Got to keep the liquid out... |
