Was wonder if anyone else has had a issue with a new 98 custom paintball gun with a 1/8" gap in the handle grip and also in the casting of the metal handle.

No pic, no post. Repost this in New Player's.

nope but its possible that the molds are getting old. Thats why the 98s threads changed a tad. Its actually about that tiem again for it to happen

As time goes on the molds in which the 98 parts are made slowly change meaning the tolerances of the parts will be different.

first off, please don't double post in different forums--if someone knows, they'll answer it in one thread. no need to make two.

secondly, someone posted in your other thread, thinking that it might be the nuts that keep the ASA held to the reciever halves. make sure they are in the slots properly, that may be a problem.

i highly doubt that a casting flaw of 1/8'' would get by their quality control personnel (you can eyeball it and tell it's wrong), but hey, i guess anything could happen. if it's not the two nuts, i'd call tippmann and see what they have to say.

Sorry for the double entry but when I posted this one i couldn't find it until I had the other one posted. This is the 1st time that I've ever posted anything on a forum. Now that I know how it works it won't happen again. I checked all the possible reasons for this to happen and I can't find a issue besides that the handle is warped where the grip goes on. I even went as far to take this apart 2 hrs after opening it up. this is the 1st marker ever owned. You know you said that you can't believe that a defect like that would get by there inspection, I can I work in a washing machine factory and you wouldn't believe the defects that go out the door every day.I really don't care that there is a defect , all I want is Tippmann to replace or fix the thing. When I called there service line I was told that this was common that is why I posted this message to see if anyone else had seen this problem?

Its really not that common. If you know anyone with a 98 Custom or have a proshop ask someone if you can try their grips on your 98. You can just have funky grips
