He did correct himself in his post, is all I was saying... Didnt mean to start a "DM3 ISNT RIGHT!" flame war, here. Why do we always have to bag on people for using DM3? Sure, it isnt the correct name, but we all know what he is reffering to, and if someone says DM3, we all know that he means the Matrix that was made in 2003. Anyways, I apologize to stick for making the thread as it is now. Once again, nice gun. |

Comment wasnt really towards you in a way. Just saying, whenever someone types DM3, theres ALWAYS someone correcting them. Which is kinda stupid. That makes me a hypicrite(sp?) doesnt it... Back to the gun, how much did you pay? People are getting amazing deals on these. |

The Dye matrix LCD was made in 2003 AND 2004.
If its made in 2004 should it be called a DM4? No, Its a Dye matrix LCD. It was only called a "DM3" after the DM4 came out, then everything got messed up by noobs. |

When I was an electro-newb, I used to wonder what happened to the DM1 and 2.

Good question DT, and here's the answer And yes, it is DMLCD not DM3, but good luck finding anything for it on e-bay without typing in DM3
That said, nice find, how much did you pay for it, and what are the specs? (board, bolt, feedneck, regs, etc) Also, Shocktech is having a good deal on clamping feednecks in their clearance bin at their online store. |

i got a pretty good deal payed $250 before shipping. as fas as i know it only has the 14" J&J ceramic, the empire on off, an aftermarket trigger (not sure who the manufacturer is) and i want to say the reg is a sidewinder but dontquote me on that, and the clamping feed neck thats going to be replaced because it dosent tighten down on that hopper very well. the EGG came with it. The guy that i bought it from said it was a DM3, im starting to doubl that though, because i was playing around with all the diffrent settings and checked the serial # on the board and it says Toxic 67890. so im starting to think its a toxic matric instead of a DM series. other than that i think the board is stock. the board also tells the temperature, but is hard too see because of the proto grips that are on it. ill propbally throw some pics of Impulse up here tomorrow so everyone can argue about that too. Nah, that's a stock DM3 body and frame, so I doubt it's a toxic as they milled theirs in a kinda tribal pattern and did 20-gun runs of anno, usually in a fade or really stand-out color (polished).
So, you've got a toxic board, Bob Long Torpedo Reg, (unknown) LPR, Proto Grips, (unknown) trigger, (unknown) Feedneck, J&J Ceramic, and Empire On/Off ASA. Not too shabby! As far as the feedneck goes, Shocktech is having a clearance sale on matrix (LCD) feednecks in silver at their store online. $9.95 for a low-rise/no-rise clamping feedneck. If you want to compare, here's my LCD |

I think that feedneck may be from powerlyte - or however you spell it. The clamping feednecks they put on their Ion kits look very similar to that one.

ya one of my pet peeves. Its a
Dye matrix LCD. As Andy said it only got called the Dm3 after the Dm4 came out because all the noobs were like omg if this is the 4th Dye matrix than the last one must be the DM3. But the number at the end stands for the year they were in production.
