I don't vote in Primaries, as I refuse to affiliate myself with either group of morons.

However, I do hope that McCain gets the ticket. The ticket he SHOULD have gotten back in '00 instead of Dubya.

Politics are overrated.

I don't really like any of the candidates for either party. But then again, is their any politician that can be likable?

Every single poll taken so far, shows that registered Republicans by and large want Rudy Giuliani. The problem is, from everything I have read and talked to people about, the GOP does not want to back up Giuliani. They think he is way to moderate. He supports the right to abortion, supports gun control, and stem cell research, all of which make the GOP higher-ups squirm. The GOP really wants to get people behind McCain, but McCain's numbers are steadily dropping. People have gotten to see his true colors as a political double-timer. He goes from criticizing the president, to as the election runs nearer, agreeing with and defending the president. He goes from talking down to Jerry Falwell, to having his picture taken shaking his hand at Liberty University. The one thing that McCain has in his favor, is he has already ran once. Even though it was six years ago, a lot of the dirt one would want to use against him, has already been dug up and flaunted.

I don't mind Giuliani. If given a choice between a Democrat I do not like, and Giuliani, I would go for Giuliani.

I find myself leaning more towards Mitt Romney at this time, that may change but we will see. I say this because Giuliani, Romney, and McCain are the only three contenders who could possibly get the republican nomination and they are the only three that might be able to win the election. Now Giuliani is to liberal for my taste, and I don't think McCain can win the election, I'm not saying I dislike McCain or that he whould make a bad president, he probably would make a good president, but I just dont think he can win. That leaves Mitt Romney as the only person capable of the job (in my opinion at this time that is).

With that said, if Mitt Romney does get the rep. nomination, he will have a long diffucult fight ahead of him.

Ya, and then uncerimoniously divorced her.  I think that will hurt him more than anything else for the "conservative" ticket.  I like him as as a candidate though.

Not a big fan of McCain, too flip-floppy.  Oh, and I can't stand his cheeks...

Romney

I don't know much about him other than he's a mormon and headed the Salt Lake olympics.

Giuliani

Tough on crime, has support of police unions, could be seen as bad for civil liberties when combined with his support of gun control. Seen as easy on illegal immigrants due to administration policies. He's not supported by the national republican party base on a large scale (too moderate). His ace is his visibility after 9/11

McCain

Large name recognition. Strong bi partisianship history. Tough on campaign finance. Has a son serving in Iraq. Formerly critical of Bush. lately has been 100% backing. Has been reaching out to the evangelical republicans in order to get nomination causing him to lose cross party credibility he once held.

Hunter

Has a son serving in iraq. Supportive of the war. Lead investigations into excessive spending. Wants a US Mexico fence. Against free trade. Only has been a house member, I can't remember any house members going straight to the presidency (although I'm sure there's been one or two)

Huckabee.

Would have the religious vote easily. Good health care record, greatly improved AKs roads and parks. Had a very good showing with hurrican katrina, avoided red tape and had agencies do their jobs the right way.

Downside, wants creationism taught as science.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Dude where in Mass are you? Romney is the reason I voted independent this past election. I guess you must live in Eastern Mass.

Only good thing he did was waive his salary. Other than that he wasted all the time of the courts on the irrevelant Gay Marriage ban. With all the problems we have in Mass I doubt that where the homosexual population wishes to wed and be micerable like the rest of married folk doesnt even scratch the top 100.

Specially since you have my city under a control board. Trying to struggle out of debt aquired by corrupt democratic mayor and the J. "diamond" Quimby like way he ran the city oddly enough named Springfield.

Romney is as bad for the US as Hilary is.

Earlier on I was leaning towards McCain. I disagree with him on a lot of things, but I thought he at least had balls. The backpeddling he's doing now to try to grab the religious right vote is beginning to disgust me. Evil Elvis ripped romney better than I can. He's a complete tool and probably the most phony, flip-flopping guy in the entire race.

If McCain pulls his head out of his butt sometime soon I may vote for him, if I vote in the primary at all.
