K just discovered that yes the front pin is shorter which is why the front corner the of my reciver has broken off. So to change the thread abit how would you reccommend reparing this or am I just gonna have to get a new reviever half? If you go to www.myspace.com/michaela2z my main pic is the offending area so you will see what I mean. Thanks for any advice, Michael

The pin is too long. When I made the same mistake it only popped off part of the front sight boss. I repaired it with JB Weld Epoxy then repainted. Undetectable!

I cannot wade through whatever it takes to see the picture. You might post it so that there is a direct URL so that it just pops up.

If more than the sight boss is broken...like into the barrel mounting area, then "yes" you will nave to replace the shell half.

Just clicking on the link does bring up the picture, just along with the rest of my myspace. But anyway yeah it has only just taken the corner off, not even gone into the nut housing or anything so ill try n find some of that stuff and give it a go. Would of though they would make the change in pin length more obvious or just have a permement dowel in there to stop such a mistake happening considering the problems that could follow. Thanks for the help Bruce

I made mine a permanent dowel after the fact by roughen the end of the pin and epoxying it in the hole.
