We all want things that will be useful to us in the near future. What are they and what will it cost you in the end?

Gaming Computer + games + peripherals.

Widescreen 21 inch monitor.

ATS paintball gun and gear to support it.

Admission to a few scenario games over the summer.

Total estimated cost: around $5000

That puts things into perspective. Damn, I need to get money fast.

Want, not need or have.

Well... wants can also be needs. For example, paintball is one of the few things I have fun with anymore. I need to go to scenario games or I'll be bored with most of my summer.

I guess needs would best be used if referring to recreational activities.

New paintball Marker: $500

New Bass Guitar/Amp: $1000(Fender Jaguar, and a Behringer amp)

New Stereo for my Truck: $75(just need the receiver part)

Another Nintendo DS: $115(I'm addicted to it, so now I want one)

Mini-14 Rifle: $500

New HDTV: $650. (Sanyo 26" Widescreen)

So, I'm looking at around: $2840 for my Wants.

you could propbally pick up a good condition mini-14 at a gun show for less than $500.

8800GTX and a new stereo for my truck. Probly around $1000-1200 depending on how much I dump into the stereo. Next weekend I'm buying one of those, just don't know which yet. Right now I'm leaning towards the stereo, I'll enjoy it until I sell the truck, where as the video card will be replaced in a year anyway.

Right now there's really nothing I need or want to the point where I'm gonna blow much money on it... starting in two months my life is gonna be 'on hold' for about two years for various military stuff, so it's not the time for me to go picking up much stuff. The one probably exception will be a laptop, for academic, entertainment, and work purposes- I'll be in a couple rather austere places this summer... Most of my money continues to get invested these days though.

The only things on my list right now are a guitar and amp. I have an acoustic, but I find electric is more fun to play, and I want the variety. Hopefully tonight I will be buying a used amp from a guy. It's a 40W Peavey Envoy 110, I'm getting a really good deal.
As for the guitar, hopefully I can find a good used one through classifieds, etc. I don't want anything crazy expensive... Right now I just borrow my friend's Squier Strat.

A new ipod would be nice, but my 4G with a ghetto-rigged 10GB hard drive in it just won't die. Plus I don't have a job at the moment, so I feel very hesitant about spending $200+. My mom mentioned getting me one for my birthday though, so that's a possibility when May rolls around.

And as for the comp, I would ideally like a new processor, more RAM and a new video card this summer, but it just depends on how much I'm able to make.

Another thing I'd like is a better camera. Mine is so slow it drives me crazy.
