I am new to paintball but have gotten totally addicted to it.  I played last saturday ( my first and only time so far) with an A5 (rental) and had no problems with it, as well as all the reviews about tippmann being one heck of a marker.  I played on a scenario field and quickly took to the roll of a sniper, not because I was told to, but because my natural instincts made me act and those actions ended up being those of a sniper.  This was my First time playing paintball and I got several compliments from veteran players on my ability to find concealment and to take out several players without detection.  At one point I had 4-5 guys gang up on me because I had taken out enough players to be a real threat ( I was quite proud of that).

All that said, leads me to my dilemma.  I love the look of the X7 and it's realism.  Plus the customization potential is astronomical.  The one thing I found with the A5 hopper is that you can't get the shots off that you need to as a sniper that is trying to stay low profile.....namely laying the marker on it's side so the hopper isn't a flag to the opposition.  Don't ask how I found out that it doesn't shoot on it's side Smiley
One of the guys I played with who owns the shop and ran the field that was being played is also a coworker.  He recommended the Q-loader for me as a sniper since it gets rid of the high profile hopper......but he did say the draw back is the feed tube that can sometimes come out if bumped too hard during play or crawling through the woods.  So I decided to do some research and I found this....... http://rap4.com/paintball/os/tippmann-qloader-sniper-mount-p -2928.html    It looks like the perfect solution to the tube problem and appears to be a great position for a sniper's marker.  My problem is that it is for the A5 and I would like it for the X7.  I did some research on this forum and daisy chained my way through some links on other forums to find this.... http://www.a5og.net/tippmann-x7/2226-x7-question-thread.html

From the looks of it the cyclone and the hopper from the A5 will fit the X7 and vice versa, that being said the Q-loader A5 sniper adapter should fit right on and allow the use of the Q-loader system on the X7.  Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Sorry for the long first post

Thanks

well if you like the a5 go with it. The thing u said about firing on its side u wont have to worrie about if u get a Q loader - gives u more of a low profile look

I had no issues with the way the A5 handled, and it's size was fine, if you ignored the hopper and the air tank (no remote).  From what I hear the X7 is just an A5 with a few slight improvements to make it less of an air hog and different cosmetics for those that want the more realistic look.  I am one of those that wants the look, which is why I am leaning towards the X7.  Some say that the side profile of the marker itself is taller on the X7, but for me when I am in my ghillie the small increase in profile won't be seen.

I just really like the Look for woodsball.  I am definately staying with a tippman though.  From what I am finding out everyone that has owned one loves it.  The price isn't sky high either, and is in the right range.....not so low that it screams "I came in a happy meal." or so high that you need a second mortgage :)

thanks

The A5 and X7 are about the same, but if you want mil-sim get the x7, and dont get to into the sniper thing, it will end badly.
