....Just wish there were addons like with mindstorms, so it could have appendages...

Still, cool stuff.

I'd outfit my fridge with a motor to open the door and system to dispense a nice cold pop, all activated with IR...That way you could send the bot to get you something to drink using an IR remote of some sort, it would go to the fridge, use IR to open it, use IR to get the drink, and return to you. Most you'd have to do is bend down to get it. Lazy? Yeah. Awesome? Absolutely.

You could have it do all sorts of stuff if you could just work out ways for it to interact with its environment....

Ideas?

I had Mindstorms, it was awesome, for what it was. Couldn't really do anything useful with it except make an intruder alarm that shot a little missile at them.

Cool thing about this is the fact that you could actually make it do meaningful tasks, given enough motivation and work....

Too bad I can't code...

they are working with the US army on different un-maned vehicles, If you watch future weapons then you know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, they do a lot of industrial stuff too. If you want to see where military robotics is going though, check out South Korea and the bots they're using at the DMZ.....killer stuff...

Anyway, not to keep posting in my own thread, but I really wish they would have put an arm and a camera on this thing....I know all but the most highend bots have a hard time recognizing objects still, but you could use some sort of tagging system, maybe even a spray that would react to infrared light that the bot would see with a special camera to tag things that it would pick up frequently....That would allow it to see it's depth and shape so it could accurately grab it and you wouldn't have a bunch of stick on tags all over stuff. Then, all you'd have to do is map out your house and load it into the bot, name the objects, place their usual location on the map, then tell the bot to go get Object A and bring it back. You could program the command to fetch different objects into different buttons on a remote control and it would be like telling your little brother to go get you things, without all the lip....all you'd have to do is keep them in a consistent reachable spot for the bot so it could find them and get them for you....

This product is killer, it just seems to be lacking in the hardware department....Wonder how expandable it is though....
