Topic: M98 Paint Project Finished!Posted: 30 March 2007 at 9:33pm |
![]() ![]() Phase 1-Priming, Sage Brush Tan.-^ ================================================== Picked up this old m98 for 30 bucks with a flatline barrel on it wich i threw on my Custom Pro. It was beat up bad but i got lots of parts and time. Did all th sanding before hand, shined it up to chrome. It was fairly easy considering the paint was old and the m98 is a antique. Anyone know how to tell the age of a tippmann 98? ================================================== ![]() ![]() ![]() Phase 2-First Camo Layer, Mud Brown ================================================== More to come. Next layers, Moss green Camo, Midknight Black Followed by a satin finish to protect and dull slightly. Just gotta wait for these to dry. ================================================== Edited by CasperTFG - 03 April 2007 at 8:24pm |

Nice work so far. Not really an antique yet, the oldest it could be is 9 years old. I have a mint condition SL-68 II that I play with and it was made in 1991.

OH BOY
I like the color scheme. Are you going to do the whole thing or just the receivers? |

the whole thing, elbow and hopper has a matching paint job. pretty much everything except the barrel. having issues with this enamel though so you may end up seeing roughly the same thing only a bit better becouse if it dont dry with in the next 3 days im going for new paint and **edited**ing out true value.

Very well done. I am very impressed with the way the colors blend into one another. The lack of sharp distinctions between color will add to the effectiveness of the camo.

Poor lighting on the pics , but from what I can tell , an Awesome paintjob !! For curing Enamel bake it in an oven at about 200 degrees for as long as you can (minimum 2 hours and optimum 4 before you put any finish coats on the paint , leave the door open a little to vent the VOC's , but its gonna get stinky , so warn your neighbors that you're not cooking Meth ! |
