Not really a fan of any AK conversion, but it certainly looks clean.

Thanks for the comments guys =) any suggestions on how to make it look any better? thinking on setting it up as a RPK, longer barrel and a modified drum mag, it would be diffrent then the M249's and M60s we see.

Not sure of any suggestions (I just started pimping up my X-7 - only the basic m-16 stuff & no buttstock but I do have a 20" Smartparts tactical barrel on it. When all is said & done I am going for a more SCAR/HK-416 or really tricked out M-4 look. Here's one place I go for inspiration: noveskerifleworks.com. If you are not sure, troll the net for real armourers who tune up real AK's. Try some of the links listed here: www.sniperworld.com. You could literally kill hours just trolling around all the different tactical sites listed.
On second thought I have one suggestion if you are bored: your AK forgrip looks like it has a bit of free real estate on the top half. I assume you still have the original basic foregrip that came with it when you first got it. If you are handy with tools (a drill), mount the two rails you have on the old foregrip onto the sides of the top half of your AK foregrip. Its free (you already have the rails), all you gotta do is take them off, hold them up to the AK frgrp & see if they'll fit & if it looks OK. That might look real sweet & give you a place to mount stuff. Let me know if that sounds crazy or not... |

that would be kool if you make it an RPK....somthing longer then a 14inch barrel tho, and mounting rails on the forgrip is really neat. i did the same thing with my ak-a5 and i love it. thats just my 2 cents :) |

MeatPuppet, I take it you mean take one of the Weaver rails off my Old shroud and see if it will fit on the bottom of my AK hand gaurd? ill go check now if it'll work.

I'm really looking into a bi-pod and longer barrel for a RPK style gun.
I will probably have updated picks this weekend, all of you are giving me so many ideas. I'm definetly heading towards a Heavy machine gun setup. Thanks for all the post's everyone. |

Reply to TheWrAith:
yes that's exactly what I mean (on the sides of the top half of your foregrip/shroud). I'd do it with my M16 foregrip, but it has a taper from back to front and the seam where both halves are assembled run along the side (drilling holes right on a seam might be problematic). I don't think your AK foregrip will have the same problem. Good luck with the bipod, though. I am not sure how you are going to install that with you marker configured like it is. |

may have solved your bipod problem. http://rap4.com/paintball/os/universal-bipod-p-1529.html Man its fun spending other peoples money. I was also looking at some really nice gold plating as well for your gun too. Like an emerald encrusted "WTH-DOG" in huge gangsta-gothic script on the side. You know...something tasteful and understated ;-) |
