Got my new LP in the mail today, my camera's dead, but this is the guitar (pic from the guy I bought it from)-

I'm impressed so far, never thought I'd really be able to like an LP so much. Incredibly smooth.

Nice! I mean it does have a certain hideousness to it, but in a good way, ya know...

Here is my new BC Rich Mockingbird Bronze that I bought with my birthday cash. It was a used one they had at guitar center, so I got a bit of a deal. It also has Seymour Duncan pickups, but I don't know what kind.

I really wanted something with a locking Floyd-Rose tremelo, and they had a used Ibanez there with one for only a little more, but it just didn't sound good in the low end. I'll just have to get another one some day.

I prefer the SG over the Les Paul, but that thing is pretty sick.  I bet it screams.

It's an Epi Zakk Wylde with the active 81/85 EMG's. It screams, but in a remarkably smooth way. You get almost no "dirty" distortion with those pickups, even with my Metal Zone. Plus the necks were designed by Wylde for a Jackson/ESP style shred.

And yeah, I thought it was hideous at first, but it's really grown on me.

Same here, I use a ton of tremolo in the music I play, but I just found this one at an exceptionally good price, with the active pickups already installed, so I picked it up. Floyd Rose's are awesome for dive bombing, and they stay in tune great, but man what a pain to get strings into. You did better with the hard tail, and Seymour Duncans are excellent pickups.

Nothing like Les Paul! My step-brother has a '65 Les Paul Standard,
chrome pickups, honey sunburst body.

What a sound!

Always loved the action on a Les Paul.  It seems that vibrato is rediculously easy...  Always loved Zakk's sound on his first Ozzy Album, No Rest for the Wicked...

Your wall mount setup makes me feel sloppy with my wires and pedals scattered all over the floor .

I'm a huge fan of ESP guitars-I've played quite a few of them at friends' houses and GC, I plan on picking up a Kirk Hammett as my next axe.

What kind of amps do you use Anarchy? I've set myself out for blues (Blues Deville and Hot Rod Deluxe) so I'd look to move on to some metal rigs. I've been checking out the Joe satriani Peavey head, or my personal holy grail, the Marshall JCM stacks (mmm...plexi...), but being completely n00b with metal, I'm lost.

Well in the ways of old, I use a simple Randall 30 watt with 12 inch Celestion speaker, I'm currently trying to raise some money for a half - stack and I am at about 400. I'm going to look into either a Randall or Marshall. I heard that Kerry King (Slayer) is going to have a production Marshall head (not limited like zakk's). Other than that I am about as clueless as you.

I'd definately recommend saving your money for tube power, if at all possible.

If you want to emulate Marshall tone (at least to the highest possible degree in digital emulation), check out Line 6's floor pods. I use myself, even with my Fender tubes, just because there are times I want (yet cannot afford) classic Marshall Plexi tone to come through my 2x12 Hot Rod. I turn it on clean (don't use the POD's distortion, spare your ears), and add my own distortion (usually a Boss Metal Zone). I fool alot of untrained ears with that setup, alot of people can't tell you're not playing a Marshall, or better yet one of the fantastic Vox AC 15/30 tones the POD uses.

Whatever you choose, check out the Boss Metal Zone. There are so many tonal possibilities, if you like metal/grunge/alternative/punk, then it's definately worth your time. The only pedal I used more religiously was my Tube screamer, but I blew it out and am currently too cheap to replace it.

Yea I was looking into the metalzone, I need to pick up a pedal or two I'm also thinking of picking up a chorus pedal and running it when I am on clean. So that way I have something to add to the clean.

Chorus is a must if you play alot of metal or alternative, you might check out a rotovibe pedal (Line 6 has an awesome one through musician's friend) for extra thickness to your sound.

My thicker setup for harder lead lines goes-

Tube Screamer (when I get it fixed that is)----Metal Zone----Crybaby (wah)----Boss Chorus----Boss Compression----Rotovibe

The tube screamer will give you an edge, or a bite, to your lead lines, even when added in mild doses to the Metal Zone.

Thats funny, I was also thinking about getting a Dime crybaby in the not so distant future. Thank you so much for helping me out with this, I hate pushy floor salesmen trying to sell you the most expensive Brutal pedal they have.

No problem man, I know how it feels to go through twenty different eighty dollar pedals because some hack on the floor things their hXc. I've dumped a ton of pedals in the trash.

I wouldn't advise going with the Crybaby though. I hate mine, as soon as I crank it up the treble goes through the roof. I bought the $150 adjustable Q dial model so I could adjust the treble settings myself, but you either get your fullness back and lose the wah effect, or sound like a quacking duck but lose your bass. I've resorted to taping cotton to the bottom of the base so the pedal can't go all the way down and open up the filter completely. PITA.

I'm going to be checking out the Vox wah-I've heard it has a much fuller, richer sound.
