So yeah, I just got back from biking a little over 21 miles.  First time I've ridden a bike in a long time, and man it was pretty sweet.

Anyone else here ride?

I have this Kia, old as all get out.  My grandfather fixed it up and what not then gave it to me.

The trail I rode on today was beautiful for the first half, Valley Forge National Historical Park or something, it was amazing.  Then we started riding through, well out side of, a some what crappy neighborhood / city.

I used to do a bike relay here. The last time I did it was around 20 miles.

Is that trail paved or a dirt trail. I been trying to get my step daugthers into biking to get them active and out the house.

The local bike trail in my city while nice is also besieged by Hobos and you'd have to pack heat to make it thorugh unharrased. Last year some jogger was sexualy assaulted there.

Theres only one? That sucks, my city is full of them. And when I'm at university, even my campus has a park surrounding it full of trails.

It's paved.

The two friends I rode with are doing a 160 mile race in September, and they want me to tag along.

every year we usually go for a 30-35 miles bike ride through the cape cod sand dunes and trails. there are tons up there, and it is awsome. a lot of the trails cut through woods and dunes, into parks, through small like traditional new england towns, and what not. i like it, it's a lot of fun.

Although I only did one eighth of that today, with more conditioning it definitely seems plausible.

I call a 200km ride a short ride.  Most kms i pulled off in a day was 800kms and other than a little saddle sore did not even break a sweat. My only stops were for food and fluids.  but something tells me you guys are missing the whole use of the 650cc v-twin between your legs LOL.

I used to ride a 34kms (21miles) trail once or twice a week in the summer with my grandfather (we was trying to get into shape).  At first it was REALLY hard to get my fat as around but eventually after alot of sweat and sore asses we both did that trail as warm ups to even longer rides.  Untill winter and then next summer came the same old struggle.

Now i doubt i could make it mutch more than a trip around the block.  Im in mutch better shape and ALOT stronger but in very differant areas.  My exercise these days come from work (doing things the hard way rather than using equipment) and basic push up sit up etc routines.

I think about getting a pedal bike again but i just dont see the time to actually use it as all my spare time is spent on the motorbike.

On a good road bike, with cliped or clipless pedals, 160 miles is nothing, maybe.... 8 hours.  Most sub-conditioned riders can keep a good pace of 20 or so MPH.

My dad used to ride raced from Michigan to Florida... every year we have guys who ride through town on their way to Washington - From NY.

They get to northern Michigan from NY in about three or four days on average.

There are a lot of trails around here for mountain biking. I've ridden less this summer so far than any in the six years I've been back into biking. I hope to get enough free time to change that.

i just recently got into biking again.  I ride trails and street, in both mountain bikes and 20" BMX bikes.  I even ride my lowrider occasionally.  I pretty much love biking.
