So, we all know how great choop's job is... but what makes your work better than everyone else's???

My place of employment just announced that it will be taking the students that are working there seasonaly on a "booze cruise" if you will.  It will be a river boat tour with margaritas and a taco buffet.

now granted, tequila + taco buffet + boat might be a bad idea, but it's still free tequila.  It's on a tuesday night too... and chances are I'll hit up the bars nearby afterwards.  I have to take it somewhat easy as all of my bosses will be on the boat as well... but afterwards... who knows.

There are no redeeming qualities about what I do. The hours are bad, my pay is meh, and I am essentially a slave to a bunch of dimwitted construction guys that hate me.

This can be considered good or bad depending on the work environment you like. Depending on the day, you can hang out and do nothing in the store for anywhere from 15 min to 2 hours. Some people would find it boring but we have broadband internet and air conditioning so it's not too bad. Plus you can make a lot of money if you actually put forth an effort to sell people stuff they don't need.

So drinking trip with rambs, how can we top that?

My job isn't great, but it could definitely be worse. I work overnight stocking the grocery department at a Schnucks here. I am the only white person who works overnight, not just my department. Bakery clerk, overnight porters, grocery clerks and night managers.. we have a ball.

Tell them Rambs is your chaperone. and awesome job perk. Only thing we have cool going on at our work is the weekend lazer tag battles between Security, Maintenance and the Cleaners. Imagine Lazer tag in over a million Square feet of Retail, Office and Garage floors.

I work for my cities utility dept.  Some days I drive around in a truck through my city not doing much.

Other days I might be out with some co workers breaking up a catch basin that need to be fixed and re poured. (breaking up the road and the entire basin which is usually 5 feet deep.  Sometimes shorter and deeper) Or maybe taking the vactor to clean catch basins that have a lot of junk on the bottom.

Heres a vactor thats like ours. Ours is orange.

Its a truck thats like a gigantic vacuum cleaner that has the sole purpose in life to suck crap.  It has enough power to get your head stuck in the tube or take a glove right off your hand.  Just wash your hand after you use it and never touch it without gloves.

thats what I mean by a catch basin but usually they are circular and one the side of the road.

Sometimes I get to drive a dump truck like this and blacktop the roads we tore up to fix the pipes under the road.

A couple of days ago we put in 2 brand new fire hydrants on one of the streets in the middle of town.

All of the creeks that go under the streets get jammed when it rains hard so we get to climb down there and clear those out.

Pay is alright and all the people I work with are really cool.  Really laid back too as long as you get your work done.

I get paid $10/hr to sit and watch corn fill wagons. Then take it to town, repeat. But then I have 4 random weeks of non stop baling mayhem, which sucks. My job has ups and downs.

my job sucks.  im a busboy at an upscale, members only dining/dog club.  my boss is an ass, i get horrible hours, they dont give me any requested days off, and im essentially a slave to everyone there.  i make 6/hr, plus 1% of 18%, or .0018% of every members check, which averages to be between .05$-.25$ per table.

needless to say, im not going to go to work anymore.  im still employed i guess, since they havent fired me and i havent quit, but i havent gone in for the past 3 days, so that pretty much settles it.

I'm an IT student assistant for the University. I just started a few weeks ago. It's pretty cool so far.

NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.

I work in a cigar store, I meet celebrities and atheletes.

A typical day in the summer involves opening at 10am, doing about 10 minutes of opening work then spending the rest of the day serving customers, drinking espresso, smoking cigars, playing gameboy, and filling coffee mugs with beer while pretending that they are lattes. Sometimes I'll have friends stop by and essentially I'll be getting paid to smoke cigars with my friends.
