my a5 is proving to be a pile of cr*p. only used it 4 times.(from new) put on a e grip and it now fires all the time by its self, i have seen that im not the only one! and the cyclone feed does not feed (turn) unless i turn the power screw right in! its as new, ive had it to bits and can not see why. i thought this was ment to be one of the most reliable guns on the market.....not. any one got any ideas before i chuck it out off the window. (i use air) thanks

what kind of board are you using? if your using a WAS board that may be the probloem as there have been many problems with the WAS boards in the A5. i reccomend the APE rampage board.

it is the was board. ive only lust bought the e trigger and it seems a bit crap that its broken after 1 week. so i feel i might just send it back and swop it for the response trigger, is that any better or will i have to throw more money at it to make it work? also im not sure if i can get the APE in the uk, and if i can, it seems to be a shed load more cash than you guys in the US pay for parts. cant tippman just sort it out and give us what we paid for? cheers for your help

If you check around the board some more, you'll find lots of complaints about the WAS (me included).  Send your grip back and buy an eGrip with the Rampage board preinstalled here.  It seems like I've been saying this in every other post lately, but no I"m not an APE employee.  I just play one on t.v.

I hear you on that, I've been praising A.P.E everywhere I go!

Steve, I'm sure it involves spending more money that you don't want to spend, but the A-5 is anything but a pile of sh!t, you just need a good board that performs like it should.

Netramakin, I'm sticking to my guns by saying the w.a.s is easier to program at first, granted the A.P.E isn't hard to program either, I've programmed mine on the fly using twigs and such too. It really doesn't matter, I still like the A.P.E better.

I would get rid of the WAS board entirely. It is problematic and you're probably better off tossing it on ebay to get what you can for it and replacing it with either the Rampage board from APE or the RT. That should solve your first problem. About the cyclone, make sure it has both part updates. If you have an "A" stamped on the bottom of the cyclone then you have them both. If there is no "A", remove the bottom plate and see if the ratchet inside is made of a clear material. If it is, you have the first update but need the new bottom plate. If it isn't, you need both updates. Tippmann will send you either or both of these parts free of charge (not sure if they'll charge shipping to UK) if you contact them. If you have both updated parts then I would just lube up the internals of the cyclone (mostly the ratchet) and give it another shot. I have never had a problem with my cyclone, even running the gun at around 600 psi instead of 800 psi on stock internals. Try that out and let us know what you find.

this may be a bit (read: a lot) condescending, but is the sear spring still in place?
Also, check the armature pin/rod (i cant remember what its called). on the off chance that its too long, it would constantly engage the sear, not allowing the gun to stop firing.

as for the cyclone, all i can say is check the fitting.

I havent bought the e-grip yet but I know that the was board is useless because of the battery usage. The ape board uses the same battery for 3x longer also u can get more firing modes for a mere $20 more. Buy the e-grip with ape board at www.tippmannpros.com
