It seems to me that most companies like to stick to old designs. look back at paintball guns along the ages, the basic designs havent really changed that much. I think someone should step out of the box a little and design somethign a little different. i think tippmann should design a gun that utilizes a lot of the aftermarket idea's that people are doing to their markers. For instance, creating a forcefed hopper system that can be mounted under the gun (aka Q-loader) and why not design a bottom feeding design to eliminate the profile problems of hoppers and also to eliminate the left handed vs. right handed problems that some people face? Also, why not put some eyes in the gun that feed info back to the gun board but also to the hopper board. most electronic hoppers rely on sound activation and having a direct connection to the gun board would make the gun work more efficiently. third of all, why not start using some li-po or li-ion batteries in the guns? they work a hell of a lot longer and more efficiently than the ni-cad or nimh ones used to date. you could even hide one in a mag (for that mil-sim effect) and have 2 or 3 that you could switch up like a real mag. I have seen most of these things done on normal guns but a company needs to jump on these things lol.
if you guys could have the perfect gun what would you have on/in it???? Edited by Zippo25 - 08 August 2007 at 1:08am |

Well, there is this little thing called patents. When someone comes up with an idea, they patent it, so that nobody else can steal their idea and sell it as their own.
Your second idea for the hoppers has already been done. Its called Inteli-feed. Why not put in your own rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries? If the battery packs were permanent, then what happens when you run out of juice between games. You have to stop playing and go recharge. Whereas you could simply change out a 9v. ruler of the idea's forum? lol ok. my point is, dont use a Q-loader. and yes i know about patents i have a couple myself. The intregue of the Q-loader is that u can hold the gun upside down and fire it and theres constant pressure on the balls. but i'm sure u knwo this cause ur the ruler of the idea's forum haha. But yeah replace the spring mechanism with a small brushless motor assemply and run a connection to the gun board. people modify patents and release their own product everyday. and yes i KNOW its already been done.. hence sayign it in the first post. my point is why not throw it together on a factory marker or use it in conjunction with a new hopper. and third of all u never read my post, the idea would be to hide the battery in the clip and make it so that it could be easily swapped by changing the clip (more for the mil-sim effect) you could still open the mag to chang them. but Li-I and Li-po batts need more protection than other batts, however hiding them in a mag could let u use a bigger batt hence loads more time between recharge, which with a li-po batt can take as little at 5 mins. so yeah. glad to meet you oh master of the idea forum. but ur comments are neither productive or informative. lates Edited by Zippo25 - 08 August 2007 at 8:45pm |

Don't start crying now. If your ideas can't hold up to scrutiny, then they should be revised.

man u got me... WHY.... STELLA
naw but criticism is awesome. just why post a negative reply to a thread in the IDEA section. if you see flaws awesome, voice them. that being said i thank you for removing the final line of your first response. that was just immature. moving on tho and on a serious note. since you are the self proclaimed master of the idea's forum have you heard of / have any idea's on the feasability or potential problems with a bottom loading marker? i've seen it done once but it required heavy modification of the recievers (obviously). I can see this being an advantage for the reasons i have previously stated. any idea's?? Edited by Zippo25 - 09 August 2007 at 1:54am |

I have seen several bottom loading guns. I own one. The ATS line feeds from a magazine below the breach, via chain system.
I also saw a really nice M4 mod on a 98. Where the Qloader was hidden inside the grenade launcher and fed the balls up into the breach. Basically the flaw with a system that feeds from the bottom, is that..... most guns still feed from the top. |

http://rap4.com/paintball/os/m203-qloader-p-1405.html your talking something like that? I always thought that was a cool idea to mount a qloader like that, perfect spot for it and makes the m4gery guns even that much more realistic looking IMHO

no, the other guy had his qloader mounted like that. But rather than the hose looping around to the top of the gun, it went straight up into the bottom of the gun.
Until he told us, you couldn't even tell it was a loader. |

The hopper idea could also be like the RF Chip and the Pulse. That combo=awesome |
