ok, so you may remember me, i painted my a5 in a custom yellow tigerstripe pattern, well the yellow paint was cheap and didnt hold up so i stripped it off. the stripper took off even the original black so now it is mostly aluminum and i thought it looked cool. so i put the stock barrel on( only small barrel i had besides flatline, and i will upgrade it fast) and took off stock, also made my own tac-cap for it

this is just the beginning, i have since then shaved off the hand guard, and im about to try to drill a screw into the cocker knob and put my own custom head on there, i'll post more pics as i get them. tell me what you think

and heres with no grip

*note i accidentaly broke off the cocking knob, so now i'm going to try and put a die there like cl0ne did, any helpful hints before i try

also just bought a 14'' J&J ceramic for it

ok and heres what i got now

ok, now i know that right now theres a screw for a bolt, but its only because i broke the other one while changing it. my plans for that are to try and find something to screw onto that while i wait for the new cocking knob to come in

and heres finished project, for now

now the only thing left to do is buy new not rusty  screws

Looks pretty good. Keep us updated. I'm interested to see what you'll do with it.

Your yellow paint didn't hold up well because you didn't strip the black stuff off...

well, i got some paint stripper in a spray can and coated it. then when i went to scrape off the color, it took off the original black too, so i scraped it all then used a rough steel wool to take all paint off. and the front grip, i used a metal file to cut across it, then filed it straight

what i've learned about paint, to make it hold longer.  Always remove the current one and clean it good.  Then Spry with primer, sand down the primer, and finally paint the final color's.

i may try that, does the primer stick better than paint? and do they have that in aerosol, as that is my current method.    also for the stripes i used bacca's method but added a layer for yellow. colors were orig black, yellow, olive drab, and tan. in that order
