I was recently given a 98 custom by a friend. The marker worked fine at first but began malfunctioning. The balls were coming out 2 or 3 at a time and lobbing maybe ten feet. It was also failing to recock and having low pressure. It wasn't a low tank. I looked at it and saw that the velocity screw was missing. Could this be it? I bought new o rings and was thinking of replacing the ball detent also. Any advice?

the velocity screw will keep the proper pressure going to the ball. without it you will lose a lot of air out that hole. check your sear and rear bolt for wear also this could be why it will not recock properly.

Check the ball detent as well, make sure it's not worn down or in backwards.

turned out to be the ball detent and screw. works ducky now. Thnx. All u hard core down-ass paintballers........see ya by the bunkers!
