    Posted: 26 September 2007 at 10:59pm

I based this off a Accuracy International rifle.(As shown below and sorry for the big pictures and skips of process pictures)

So I traced out a pattern didnt get a picture of it though.  I made the roughdraft out of pine as it is easy to work with.

I formed the stock using a die grinder, rotary rasps, shaped, and sanded it.  Started of fitting A5 into stock.

Ran Spec Ops Airthrough tombstone and macro line routing.

Originally going to be desert colored.

That's some really nice custom work there. I like the desert theme, though SWAT black would look good on it as well.

Final Product

The Paint looks alot better now, it recieved a few more coats and a flat clear coat. Also after I finished it in pine, I took it to a gun shop and had them duplicate it into walnut. They only did the rough cut of it and then it was back to the bench to sand and detail it all over again.  HOPE YOU ENJOY

It does weigh a bit but its fun to bring that out to the field and see the looks on some players faces.  It took awhile to finish but its well worth it.  Also all the tools I used were minimal,

  • a drill
  • an air compressor
  • air die grinder with various rasps and bits
  • a palm sander
  • sand paper wrapped around a 1" pvc pipe
  • and a Jig saw with 3.5" blades (the wood was about 2 1/8" thick)
  • oh and a steady hand

That's so well done, I'm not even gonna complain about the ineffectiveness of the design!

Seriously man. One of the best "sniper rifles" I've seen here.

I'm actually thinking of making another stock and stain it.  The green helps though in woodsball but like you said it would look beautiful stained.

I am also thinking of making a M-14 or M1 Garand using the same method.  Also do you guys think i could mold the stock and use some kind of resin to produce these more easily??  It wouldn't look as good as the wood but it wouldn't scratch as easily and you could get the feel of a real rifle.
