so i just bought an etrigger for my 98. First issue involves the cheap ass wiring of the thing. The wires for both the switch and the capacitor easily broke away from their respective terminals while installation. Fixed that problem with my soldering iron with out any big hiccups.

New problem, after all is installed, the gun will not fire correctly. I get it gassed up and loaded etc. and cocked, but when i pull the trigger it shoots and then rapid fires as if the rear bolt is not catching the sear. It is similar to it being low on gas or having a worn sear. The sear however is not worn because it is new it came with the kit.

I had these problems before when it couldnt load paint fast enough, but that is not the issue right now. I tried putting OEM sear in place, no go. Tried all combinations of stock and etrigger components with no avail. I am missing one of the valve screws(actually stripped the hole for it), I doubt that is the problem. I put a clipped rear bolt spring in to see if lowering that spring rate would improve anythign but still nothing.

Other issue, I cant get teh e trigger into the programming mode it claims to have. I thought that maybe the thing was set incorrectly and needed to be adjusted. Sort of as if the solenoid is actuating too fast and teh sear is virtualy remaining open when i fire.

Worn Sear, or broken rear bolt O-Ring.

oring is fine and so is the sear cause its brand new sear out of the e trigger kit.

i think i found the problem though...

I read on a product review that with a certain serial number set of 98's you must use the oem sear with the kit. The sear that is provided with the kit has a hole for the pin that it rotates on where as the stock one for some 98's has an elongated hole or oval shaped hole(mine has this). So the ET sear does not have the full range of motion needed on this series of guns. I didnt figure this out because i switched back to the oem sear but with the oem spring, the spring rate was too high for the solenoid to fully actuate the mechanism.

Now I installed the oem sear with the ET spring and it seems to work fine. I am still getting the same issue every few shots but i think it may be that i was shooting down and my hopper was not feeding fast enough. It had this problem before when the hopper was not on, or i was out of ammo. maybe ill buy a cyclone.

your hopper is not causing the marker to skip fire...
though i'm not at all sure what is. are you using the new or old sear spring?
