Cell Contracts

Any good ways to break them? Nextel has me by the balls and I want out, to switch over to Verizon. I tried calling, but the only options they gave me were to:
a) pay $200 for a cancellation fee.
b) sell the contract on a 3rd party website
It friggin' sucks too because my brother just got a new phone a few months ago, so the contract got renewed then. My dad is the carrier, so I got him to call and fake financial problems, but that didn't work. I was looking online and some people said that if they can't produce a copy of the contract (which they often times can't), the contract is void, so I will try that tomorrow. I also heard that if they change something (ex: text messaging prices) that it voids it, but an article countered that by saying they only cancel if it has a dramatic affect on your bill . Maybe Rambs, a smart legal person, or anyone who went through this can help me out.

My mom just goes in and yells a lot, I mean a lot and they usually end up
saying ok. Not only do you get out of the contract, but you also get to see
your family member get angry at a high school student. If I didn't mention
you have to go to the store to do this, it doesn't work over the phone.

Because nextel sucks, and verizon is better. And they have better phones, and all verizon calls are free. I know a guy that owns a cell phone store, so I might try and go down there and see what he can do.

I HATE sprint. I'm inside the sprint store, roaming. They required updates so my phone would connect to the new towers, but that never helped.
They said my phone was too old to use the new towers and I would need a new one. This is when I used a sprint store phone to call in and cancel my account.
