I have a tippmann A-5 that i have been using for the past year.  The only upgrade on it is a r/t. I have a hpa tank already so that is not needed.  I have decided the first thing to go is the stock barrel it is horrible.  With some new christmas money I was looking at a J&J ceramic kit and the  Vortex package right now.  It is going to be used half woodsball and half speedball.  If there is anything I am missing or any reviews about these items it would be much appreciated.

Also on a side note is there anything that I could do to the marker that would make it stand out such as the e-bolt on a model 98.  Not a milsim flashy thing like that as it would make the marker heavier than needed.

Well, the thing to remember is that R/T triggers are banned in most tournament situations, so if you're going to go the competitive route and keep the A-5 for those purposes, I'd suggest looking at an e-grip. The vortex mod is a great upgrade, not only from the standpoint of speed, but reliability as the plastic ratchet on the A-5 is prone to cracking with hard use. The J&J Kit will serve you well. Good choice on that! Sounds like you're on the right track with everything. As far as E-bolting goes. I've seen one that was fitted to an A-5, but it takes major modification. There is a pneu-frame coming out for the A-5/X-7 as well which gives you great speed without the need for batteries. I believe Garf from G-Force has a thread in upgrades and customizing about it.

Well since this is my first marker I don't think I'll try to e-bolt it then.  But this pneu-frame for the A-5 might just be worth it to save up some for it.  Would I need to get a new hopper if I were to do those upgrades?  I don't think I would need to with the cyclone, but might as well be safe then sorry and find out now.

There are some modifications you can make to have the cyclone run faster, but it's good for 15bps right out of the box. The vortex mod helps the speed a bit, adding in the lightening rod and the qeph (all three mods are from TechT) will let you get up to the 25+bps range. Mind you, that's not really necessary given that most fields use a bps cap set by the PSP league and they just dropped the cap to 13.3bps.
