Well, with the Promaster, you have a buttload of money to spend on other junk. Almost $200 more than you would with the Mini. To me, a Mini has become just another novelty gun, and as I understand it they're love/hate. You know, for $50 more, you can get the upgraded LaSoya Promaster. I hate that man, but since he doesn't see a dime from these sales, I say do it.

If your looking at the Promaster, but are willing to spend enough for a Mini, look at the Fusion.

inverts have alot of potential in my opinion, you could replace the stock barrel with hammerheads sharktooth 5" barrel and get a coil remote and an eggy3 and youve got the lightest gun known to man lol

Eggys weigh a ton. Remotes are silly in speedball and completely through off the balance. Rifled barrels are a gimmick.

Heh... hehehhee.... bwahahahahahahah!
I'm, I'm sorry, I don't think I read that right.... Seriously man, I'm not trying to pick on you, but have you even played speedball? DeTrevni nailed most points succinctly, but seriously, if you don't know what you're talking about, don't suggest something. |

You should read the sniper debate in the gallery. Ace's thread.

Why a 5"? Most players would want a barrel at least double that. Remotes have little place in speedball. Eggys are ugly, fragile and heavy. |

5" isn't even enough to allow the gas to fully expand from it's compressed state in the valve meaning you don't get the full energy potential and wind up having to expend more propellant to get the ball to muzzle velocity.

Arent you supposed to get 8" plus for the best performance? Anyways i do like the mini and I dont think a remote would throw it off but thats because thats what I usually use )the remote not the mini). Ive never held a pro though. so i cant help you there.

yeah, 8" is necessary for the ball to stabilize in flight. Tom Kaye proved that with his glass-tube experiments. Minis are front-heavy (battery and board are in the fore-grip) so the remote would make it a less-stable shooting platform. Not to mention that remotes and speedball just don't mix.

Generally I would suggest the promaster, and I do still suggest it over the mini. However, you should take into account that ICD will nolonger be making paintball equipment, nor will they be servicing markers. So if you feel you might break something and are not proficient to fix the marker, I do not suggest you buy an ICD gun. On a side note, I have a 2005 ICD Gen II freestyle (it shoots great, expecially for the prices you can buy them at)... and have to replace the wiring harness I trashed...and are generally weak/ easily broken. Might not repair it for awhile though since I am owed some money and am going to be paid w/ a Naughty Dawg Freestyle (H1 bolt, CP HPR, CCM Feedneck, Predator Board, Hybrid Grips, etc).
