Wrong section it should be in the upgrades and customization. As for the barrel most people will reccomend a J&J ceramic. |

Ya the quietness of a barrel reaaly isn't that important so unless you gonna get a barrel kit I would just stick with your J&J.

if you want a quiet gun, then you need to buy a different one. Matrixes are known for being pretty quiet, especially the older ones.
Personally I go for the loudest freaking gun possible. Everyone in the dead zone ca just listen up, and hear where I am. If you are going for the angle I think you are going, then don't go there. A silencer on a gun, hides muzzle flash, and quiets it. Its still really easy to hear. Bullets move fast enough that you cannot follow their trajectory easily. Even with a quiet gun, it only takes 2 shots to get a bearing on you. If you want to be sneaky and get good eliminations, just sneak around, and get the upperhand on a group, and open fire into them. tippmanns are not quiet guns. i like older smart parts barrels to make a gun quiet. however you will be better off changing guns to an autococker or a non blow back, low pressure gun.

LP is quiet, but pumps are the best. You don't have the noise of the gun cycling. Just a click.

Unless you have a stock SL, like I do. Pump Cockers are probably the quietest though. Playing with an extremely loud gun is fun. My friends and I were playing some renegade once, in a extremely tight area. Since it was our last game, I had almost no paint left so I had to use my "last resort" paint that chopped almost every other ball, combined with low light, just called for sprayage(98 w/RT, so I can get a decent 12bps). Since my gun was chopping so bad, I said heck with it and took off my barrel front in the middle of the game. Fun times |

Very true. And I gotta agree with the loud note too. Quiet guns just aren't the same. |
