    Posted: 11 February 2008 at 1:56am

I have an A-5 with a Flatline barrel, and so far the paint i have used tends to curve sharply, and break in the barrel more than normal

paint i have used so far:

field paint(swerves, breaks in barrel)

JT Tactical(same as field paint, but less predictable)

RPS Premium(more accurate thant the other 2, no breaks, but still some random swerving)

Any suggestions on other paint that works good with the A5 Flatline?

Smaller bored paints typically work better with the Flatline. If you're willing to pay a little more for paint, try some Marballizers.
Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

also the RPS would probably be good to stick with.  as far as the swirves some of it could be from even the smallest amount of wind and some of it is because the inside of the flatline is textured.   each ball hits the texture just a little bit dofferently and therefore each ball reacts just a little bit differently.

Erratic flight paths for the paintballs could also be a result of excess velocity.

When i brought my marker to a field, the guy working the Chrono couldnt get my gun to go past 220 fps no matter how much he turned the velocity screw, so i dont think thats the problem. btw do you know how to fix that anyone?

If you start with the screw all the way in, it quits affecting velocity around 4 complete turns out because it works by interrupting airflow.  I would suggest starting with the screw in, chronoing it, then backing it out a half turn at a time and continuing to check velocity.  If this doesn't work, you probably need to invest in an after-market spring kit.  The nature of the F/L barrel means that it requires more air to get the same velocities as straight barrels.

Edited Note:  It can vary from barrel to barrel, but I find that I get the best accuracy in the mid 260 range with my A5 F/L.

do you have a stock on the barrel also?  it may effect the spring which could effect the velocity.  try a stiffer spring.

Thanks for the help everyone, my gun works properly now that ive adjusted the marker to the right velocity. It turns out that the guy working at the field was just stupid, telling me my gun would not fire over 220 fps, when it was actually over 300 fps, which he passed during the chrono test, so i was shooting over 300 fps the whole day at the field. I dont think i will ever go to that field again.
