Well, I picked up an Ion from a guy for a good price, and unfortunately, I know nothing about them.

I'm having a little trouble with it though.

One of the battery lines was severed, which I repaired with no trouble. I know it works now, because the indicator light tells me its on when I put the batter in and hit the switch.

I know it doesn't like to dry fire because of the eyes, but (so I'm told) there's a setting that turns the eyes off and it will fire with air.

Well, I can't get that to work, In fact, even with a load of paint in it, no matter what I do, the damn thing won't fire. The light flicks accordingly when I pull the trigger, but I'm getting nothing else, no matter which setting I have the marker on.

Are they picky about air pressure? The tanks I have are nearly empty, though they work fine when I hook them into any of my tippmanns.

Im probably doing something stupid, having never dealt with one of these before, In fact, I'm hoping it IS something dumb and you can all laugh at me, so I can get it to work without any serious investment of time or money.

Thoughts?

At the very least you should hear the ticking from the solenoid when you fire. It sounds like the reason he got rid of it was a bad noid.

Double check that there is reflective tape on the inside of the plastic tube before you go too far though.

Take a multi-meter and check the voltage going to the IRLED, then check the voltage going to the receiver and see if the resistance drops when you cover it up.

Is it the stock board? to turn the eyes off on the stock board you simply hit the on button again. You may want to try changing the battery but your gun should semi cycle (it may not all the way) at 150psi. what does the gauge read when you screw in your tank? If that doesnt work it may be your dwell. Does it have any aftermarket parts?

It is not the stock board. I do hear clicking from the solenoid when I pull the trigger. the gauge is about Either tank I use, neither of them bring the gauge up to 150. They're all about 125.

Think I'm looking at a pressure issue?

dumb question, but if bot tanks read 125 on the gauge, then maybe your reg needs to be turned up?

Dumber question.

How?

After I made the purchase a few days ago we were supposed to go over the operation of it, but didn't get to it. I'm sitting on a marker I don't know how to use.

This would also account for my being a little shady on the specs.

Here is the ion manual. It shows reg adjustments it may also may show the bolt face I dont remember. What color is the board? Does it have multiple LEDs? What color is your bolt?

Okay, I adjusted the reg, according to the manual that was posted. I'm still getting nothing though.
