You can find used Mags fairly cheap.  You can't go wrong with a 98c.  It's bulletproof, and there are a ton of upgrades for it.  You can find them very cheap used.  Try www.pbnation.com.

It depends on the feel.

Go to a shop and ask to hold them.

This is one way to tell wich you like better.

The a5 is bassicly a x7 in a more compact body.

I like the a5 over the 98c.

I have all 3 and my favorite is the a5.

The only thing i like on the x7 more than the a5 is the egrip.

Automags are still sold, but they're overpriced new and the Emag is no longer available. You can commonly find Automags at decent prices (or a steal compared to the original price) at stores and online.

For reference I bought my Mag a while back for $80 and it came with an 11'' CP barrel, AGD bicycle grips, with no ASA/Macro and no front grip (which was optional).

Their site is www.airgun.com

As said above it is really all in the feel for you.  if you happen to know some people with either gun shoot them a little and see which one feels better to you.  If not that at least go hold them at the shop and see which one is more comfortable.  I persoanlly prefer the A5.  Comes with the cyclone shich is a nice feed system and with the egrip it is plenty fast.  The 98 can have the same thing done to it you just end up having to install it yourself or getting a centerfeed with an electronic hopper.  it also depends on how you want to play.  If you are more into speedball the 98 is more compact.  Mil Sim I think the A5 looks better for.  Again its all personal prefference though.
Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your...
