dialed in flatline

   has anyone truley dialed in a flatline to the best its going to be and chose another barrel over it?  if so, why are the reasons?  was it close/medium/long range accuracy was better with another barrel?  if so, what kind?  jj, boom?  how much better were the other barrels?  no interest in buying a freak kit.  
please respond if you only have direct input on this.  i dont need to hear the "f/l's suck" or are "to loud" thing.  i know they are loud...i know they are decent, i have one... and have been playing pb since the splatmaster plastic pistol days and the "bill nye the science guy" goggles were used.
snake6 or mack along with any other "platinums" having any input on this would be appreciated.
i have read all the f/l posts and i have a headache from the off the subject banter.  although the "no sniper in paintball" argument is pretty funny to read.  you guys railed on those poor fellas.

	I personally Love the Flatline on my A-5. While shorter and some say with less Range than the 98 Serries Flatline. I really cant say enough about the Marker. I like the fact that when In the Prone I can shoot a straight path to my Oponents with out having to worry about Ball drop. or arcing balls under thick foliage. I found that my A-5 Flatline works best at 275fps. I have found that most good quality field paint works great on the Flatline. I use it more as a "stand off" system than a acuracy type system by peppering a area with about 5-8 paintballs per burst. I usually keep my E grip on "Hyper" This is my main "Big Game" set up since I am rolling with a Team and my role is Suppression but I will and more than likely do a Recon Charge and locate, closewith and eliminate my oponent. Others have this crazy expectation that the Flatline is souposed to be this amazing uber acurate barrel. So as a Machine Gunner I work on brackers and pepper and strafe the area of the target i need eliminated.

	I had a F/L on a 98 that was dialed in perfectly. I used a rear velocity adjuster to put extra tension on the spring so the hammer would hit the valve harder to release more air. Then I used the stock velocity adjuster to seriously restrict the speed of air release. My goal was to have the ball experience most of the acceleration after it entered the barrel rather than before. I fiddled with the two until I found the perfect balance that would put paint out at just above 270 fps with amazing accuracy. The downside was it was louder than heck and really inefficient; I got just under 400 shots off of a filled 68/3000 tank. (One of the reasons I switched back to CO2 for my Tippmanns.) On the plus side, it fired so gently that I played with that marker every weekend from April to September for three years without breaking paint. I finally got rid of that barrel this year; but only because I picked up an A5 F/L that was just as accurate but required a lot less effort to tune/use. (I just couldn't justify having two F/Ls.) EE hit the nail on the head above. The F/L is more of a suppression tool than anything else.
