Cyclone or Electronic feed hopper?

I want to get faster loading before I get the Etrigger this summer. So what should I do? The cheaper yet slower Cyclone or the more expensive faster electronic hopper aka...HaloB hopper?
black to blue fade Proto M6, Laser eyes, Dye UL 2 piece barrel, Hitman Grips. Sick Trigger, Reloader B ripped. Crappy 3000 Steely for now.

Depends.  How much paint do you want to throw?  What is too slow for you?

I'm not sure why you think the cyclone is slower...  I don't really have much electric hopper experience.  My last electric hopper was an 18 volt View Loaded Revolution.  I know they have made progress since then, but I would still take my cyclone feed over any of them.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing my 98C with R/T & Cyclone feed can shoot 10-12 balls a second without a problem.  I have yet to find out the fastest it can shoot before I break paint, but it's plenty fast for me.  And, no need to worry about batteries.

I don't know the guy as paintball wizard said that the cyclone is slow. I just want to not mis-fire or get any jams.

IMO, there are exactly four reasons to choose any hopper OTHER than a Cyclone:

1.  You play competitive speedball and need to be able to consistently throw 20+ bps downrange.

2.  You play competitive speedball and use super-brittle tournament paint.

3.  You mostly play speedball and need a narrow gun.

4.  You want to, for whatever reason, be able to switch hoppers easily.

Reason #4 doesn't make a lot of sense for most people.  If reason #1 or #2 applies, you aren't shooting a Tippmann anyway.

The real issue is reason #3.  The Cyclone makes your gun lower, which is great in the woods, but also wider, which is bad on the speedball field.  You have to decide which part of that tradeoff you want.

But in terms of performance, the Cyclone is better than any other hopper on the market.  Period.  It doesn't misfire.  It doesn't jam.  It doesn't run out of batteries.  It doesn't fall off.  It makes your gun completely chop-proof.  There are no electronics to fry, no eyes to worry about.  It doesn't care what color your paint is.  It doesn't weigh hardly anything.  It holds 200 rounds stock, and bigger (and smaller) boxes are readily available for very little.

Stock it is good for about 17bps or more - with some aftermarket parts that can go north of 20.  More than enough for 99.99% of players.  It is rough on paint, so good quality balls are required.  It makes your gun a funny shape, so it won't fit in many gun-cases.  There is one part that can wear out/break, but the replacement costs a buck, and takes ten minutes to install.  And, of course, given the cheap price of Cyclones compared to other performance loaders, you can just as well carry a spare Cyclone.

But those are details - the only real reason not to get a Cyclone is because you want a tall narrow gun instead of a short fat one.

Just to add the X7 hopper on a cyclone can make it even lower and it is extremely secure on there. If I could put a cyclone on my non-tippmanns I would.

Fully Agree.  The hopers hold plenty and If you really want to hold more paint you can go up to 450 rounds in a hopper or down to 20 rounds with a chopped down tac cap.

Gonna disagree a little.  I had a cheapo rifle bag and it fit great.  I guess it depends on how small of a bag you want.

Agree and Agree

IMO the cyclone is one of the best hoppers out there.  I love mine and have been running the stock parts at 11-13 bps and never once had a problem.  I have put thousands of rounds through and its still truckin along.
Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your...

I have a Tac Force 2-gun padded case.  My 98C w/ cyclone fits just fine with my old M98 in there as well.  I can see how it may cause a problem in some cases, but it's really easy to pop off the feeder & put it in the case seperately.

I have a hard time believing an electric hopper could be much faster since tippman has an off-set ball drop.  Maybe if Tippmann's came with a vertical feed.  But, if that were the case, I wouldn't like tippmann's as much.  I'm not a vertical feed fan, I like having sights and a straight view down the barrel.

I've only had my cyclone feed about a month.  I probably put 4000 balls through it so far...  I have had 2 ball breaks happen from the cyclone feed, and both occurred approx 1-2 shots before I ran out of air.

I would agree that the cyclone is not the best option for speed-ball, hyper-ball, or tournaments.  But if that is what you are really into, why did you buy a Tippmann?  I watched a local tournament last weekend, and I think you might as-well throw a case of paint in the air, and see who manages to not get hit by one of them.  I'm just playing around, but as you can probably tell, I'm a scenario/woods-ball player.

P.S.  I bought the X-7, low-profile hopper, and I swear it only holds 150 balls.  I like the off-set design much better than the A-5 style hopper, but I was hoping to hold 200 rounds still.

Thanks for the replys and info guys. I am gonna get the cyclone... IT is better performence priced for the buck I mean come on $60 bucks? That is a good price for one... Now just 2 last questions...

1.I saw one at PB wizard (I think it is just the piston part, but not sure) Other branded Cyclone but it was not a tippmann and it would fit my gun. Now if this is a cyclone IT is $30 bucks. Should I get this or or pay double for the tippmann? IS it basically the same thing? I am pretty sure the Tippmann is better but I am on a budget and If I can get the same results for half the price... Why not right? If it is not the cyclone and just the piston... should I get this down the road to replace the tippmann piston?

2. What is the "part" that breaks? Is it that piston thing?
