Flatline Barrel Question

What you can do is buy a Lapco Dove Tail sight which is put on the right side of the marker, and you can simply attach a sight ontop of that.

never seen a dif shroud for the 98 flatline.  you could always drill some holes, attach a rail, attach a sight, done.

I have a 98 Custom and bought a Flatline with it, the plastic shroud with the dovetail sight and has a weaver type rail built into it. Mine was listed for the 98 Custom or Custom Pro on the carton it came in. The dovetail sight will not stay in place and keeps falling down so is nearly useless, and the barrel is a pain to setup correctly and clean. If you take the time to double check and test fire the gun you can dial it in each time you take it apart. For me that is all most too much of a pain because when it is off it is less accurate than if I threw the ball with my hand. I'm seriously considering a new barrel for mine, my son loves the extra distance and accuracy it does give you when I take the time to set it up correctly, but to do it right it takes time and you have to test fire it, at least I do. I'm not trying to bash the Flatline, just making you aware of what to expect. When setup correctly it does perform admirably. Personally, the plastic shroud that comes with it feels somewhat flimsy and cheap compared to the rest of the gun. I have a Smart Parts Linear 16" barrel for my A-5 and to screw it on/off takes 10 seconds with no need to dial it in.

That's a great tip Mack, I'm surprised Tippmann doesn't have something to align it with, I put a small screwdriver in the holes of the front ports and turn it until I get it straight, then shoot it and readjust if needed. I also had a little trouble chronographing this, I went to one and it was low, turned it up a little, then redid it before a match and it was 330. I wonder if a expansion chamber would of helped here? Today I was out shopping at Gander Mountain and found a Smart Parts All-American 14" for $35.00. I think they messed up the labeling but they gave it to me for what it was marked. I haven't had time yet to really test it, but installation took me all of about 5 seconds...lol.

Ahem... I was not referring to the new platinum one, he had a Custom Pro, not a "platinum custom pro" SOOOO... I thought he might want an original one, that usually 96% of proshops carry still. Some people still like to support their locals, and not some huge online warehouse.
