First, we need to make sure it's actually chopping paint.  When you look inside your marker after having this problem, where is the broken paint/shell pieces?  Be exact.  Is there residue in the hopper, is it around the bolt, only in the barrel, etc.  Also specify what type of residue is located where.  Additionally, list all modifications/upgrades you have made to your X7.

Known this to happen before with X7s and its usually down to what paint your using. I try and use a winter ball with hard shell in my X7 all year round if I can. Never had a break yet. Find the right paint for your marker and you'll be laughing mate..

I'm having the same problem with my x. I have tried visible impact which was recommended as a harder shell. I have also tried Ramp but i believe this is a lower end paint. I'm using co2 with squishy paddles. I have paint in cyclone feed and  barrel. It just seems to blow up at when the bolt comes forward. I could use some direction on this one.
