I wanna gt started in paintball(woodsball) and I have been browsing through markers. I decided I wanted a 98 Custom Platinum, and then over the months customize it as a M4(kinda like this one http://www.tippmann.com/forum/wwf77a/forum_posts.asp?TID=172 619&PN=8 ) Problems is I can't find a 98C Platinum here in Canada so i would have to order it from the US. Oh, and could you guys give me some online store links with what I need, and a little advice on internals and externals if I should get them. Arthur |

May I make the suggestion of getting a Alpha instead. I have a 98C that I made into an M4 and it was very expensive and wouldn't suggest doing it. I got all my stuff off of Opsgear. THe thing is, it looks cool, but it is too heavy to be a good playing gun. The Alpha is lighter, looks like an M4 and has all the same internals as a 98C, plus you can add a 98C barrel and a 98C Cyclone (w/some mod) to them. They also are cheaper and the Egrip version will be out soon. I'm getting the Alpha/Egrip as my next gun and will mount my red dot and barrel to it.

Agreed... they basically took the work out of it for you to get it looking like an M4 |

Dude I live in Canada, Canadian Tire or Walmart has them. They are more expensive than a U.S. website, but you won`t have to pay shipping or duty on. Or try this This is where I bought my A-5 from. Free shipping |

Ya i recommend www.tacticalpaintball.ca also. I just got my 98c pro off their site and they have a bunch of cool stuff. I'm not sure if they have the platinum model but it is much cheaper then some stores, especially places like canadian tire or walmart.
It is free shipping for orders over 150$ but there is a 5$ handling charge. I got mine in 4 days using the stand shipping. |

I would agree on either getting an Alpha Black or stepping up to an A-5. Several sites offer the A-5 at around $179 which is basically the same price as buying a 98C with a Cyclone which you will probably buy eventually anyways.

I do agree, I love the 98C, but the Alpha Black is a 98 with an M4 kit. Also it's cheaper (in the U.S.) then the 98. You will probably spend another $200.00 making it look like an M4. I did it and wish the Alpha was around before I did all of that. |

chaibill,
You've tried to talk people into buying an SP1 in four separate threads, yet you admit . . .
. . . in this thread that you don't even own one. Suggesting a marker based on a good experience with it is one thing; suggesting it based on what you read in the advertising copy is a different matter entirely. You should probably quit pimpin' for SP until you have actually purchased/used the marker in question. I am including links to the threads in question and am also going to paste this post in every thread as a "heads-up" to those who may be mislead into thinking your advice is based on experience. Need New Woodsball Gun I need help plz help i need advice on a good gun |

Right I was just passing on what I had read on other forums and what i
heard form people that have it. Didn't mean to sound like I work for
SP. Just got excited by this gun. But thanks for the patrolling. And
for reading my posts :) So do you like the SP-1 too

I have no play experience with it, which is why I normally don't comment on it. Having handled one at the local store, I have been thinking it has potential as the basis of a CQB setup. I would assume that it would operate in a manner very similar to the Ion. |
