I have a 98c and it great but its pretty worn out. I cant remove the barrel without completely disassembling the gun nd a bunch of stuff is screwed up. I still would like a 98c but i dont know which type to get now that there are custom ACT's and custom platinums. so if anyone has any advice it is appreciated. or any other marker that you think would be good. thanks

Kudos to you! You are one of the very few new people here that actually read what forum to post in. If you are bent on a new marker and still like the 98C platform, I'd go for the Platinum series. It is a little bit easier to strip down and clean, plus it has Anti Chop Tech. Most of the upgrades for your marker should port over to the Platinum. |

my budget has expanded and i can now buy either a 98c or an A5.... any suggestions on which to buy?... i've heard that the A5 can be unreliable so any info would be helpful

As far as the 908 or A5 goes it depends on what you want to do with it and which feels better to you. Since you are used to the feel of the 98 you may want to get another one. I prefer the A5 personally just because of the feel. I also like the cyclone on it and have never really had a big problem with it (accept for when it is horrible paint but I have to use it b/c its fpo). Since you also have the 98 barrel you may want to keep it and get another 98 that way it is less expensive for you in the end. It all comes down to prefference. If you know someone that has an A5 see if you can shoot it before making a decision. If you really like the cyclone however just go for the A5 since it comes to about the same price to buy an 98 and a cyclone seperately.

i'm pretty sure that i want to stick with the 98.... and unfortunately some of my upgrades wont transfer to a new 98.... i've heard that the a-5 and the 98 are very similar except for the cyclone feed.... and i'm finding that 98 upgrades/mods are someties hard to find.... any advice?

The A-5 is anything but unreliable. It may be a tad more complex than the 98, but not by much.
If you're looking into sticking with the 98 platform, by all means, go for the platinum, and take the money you saved from not buying an A-5 and upgrade the 98 platinum. I think it'd be the best bang for your buck, and you really can't go wrong with the 98 models. |

i think i'm gonna get an a-5, because they are about the same price as a 98c with a cyclone and i want to get a cyclone so why not just get an a-5? thanks guys!
