Well I have modded My Alpha Black Tactical body. Now I am thinking about internal bolts and upgrades for my Cyclone feed. unfrotunatly, this is my first tippmann and I have no idea what the best internals would be for the Alpha Black ( uses 98c internals I think) so, could someone tell me and provide, links and names or what not, for suggesting good internals and cyclone feed upgrades? thanks for the help.

Go to http://www.techtpaintball.com/ You can find all the cyclone upgrades you'll need there. As for the bolt I have a rufus dawg wicked bolt in my ABT. Hope this helps! |

TBH if you don't plan on putting an Egrip on your Alpha stay away from those upgrades. They will do nothing more that what your basic stock parts are doing if you shooting only on semi-auto. The only good thing will be to get HPA instead of CO2. You have better shoot grouping and more consitency. The squishy paddle and all that stuff for a semi auto marker doesn't do anything to your marker in term of performance. In regards to after market bolt, you don't need that either if you are using HPA. And an aftermarket derlin bolt with an o-ring inside will slide poorly on the plastic power tube ( I know I bought one for nothign really a waste of money). So you will have to buy an Alu power tube (when it was completely unecessary in the first place). An Alu power tube is good for marker using Co2 because the Co2 can crack the stock plastic one. Bottom line is: Keep all that money on after market useless parts for an HPA tank. If you have an HPA tank, well take all that money and invite your GF for a nice dinner! The only upgrade that would be worth getting if you plan on using an e-grip would be the squishy that's all. The other aftermarket parts of the cyclone wait for them to brake before changin them.
Nice Alpha BTW! Edited by JagdAlex - 18 June 2008 at 1:51pm |

Thanks for the heads up, I do indeed use HPA and I don't plan on getting an E-grip at the momment as the place I play at offers only 30 rounds a game to eveyone, 6 games a day. (Keeps the cost down to a minimum and eveyone can afford to play that way.)

So under those circumstances...that would be ridiculous from your part to get those aftermarket parts. You have the cyclone itslef, righ there it's a big leap from the basic gravity fed. Keep your money man! I am telling you you will not see ANY difference at all. Except $150 less in your bank account!

the stock cyclone parts will wear out and break eventually even under normal semi-auto use... I have broken two in my day. the upgrades I bought were the cheaper versions of the Tech T parts. I got them from Moxie paintball on ebay... the Alum parts will last Much Much Longer! Its ur Preference! Do what you want! |

If it aint broke don't fix it! I have seen rental 98c working for years without being properly cleaned and the power tube and bolt was holding on, not in the best shape but still working. You can waste your money on something that maybe one day will broke so you buy one better right away in case it will break or you stay with the stock version. Anyway it is really 2 school of thoughts, for a semi auto using HPA, that shoots on everage 30 balls per game any upgrade over the stock parts would be simply to throw your cash down the drain man! But like insofar said, it's your choice! even under normal semi-auto use... I have broken two in my day You are using Co2? Even so I never hear that someone is breaking 2 in one day you must have been really bad lucked. Edited by JagdAlex - 18 June 2008 at 2:37pm |

lol not two in one day... Two over the course of a couple years... the cost of replacement = the cost of the alum upgrades, which will hopefully never break! Yes I use Co2 I only play in the warmer months and Co2 lasts way way longer in the warmth... A couple of the guys i play with bought the HPA tanks for the winter which out preform by far! by in the warmer months they kick themselves for buying them since we play more in spring summer fall. I also have an egrip so my chances of breaking have increased greatly! All the upgrades I have done have increased the preformance of my marker greatly! clocked last week at 30BPS!

they don't make an E-grip for the Alpha Yet, so what are you using?, I wonder.... do they make an E-grip where you can still feel the pressure of the Trigger? I held a marker with an egip on it once, and it was like clicking a button, there is no resistance. the problem with that is I like to Squeez the trigger. to bad they don't make an Alpha response trigger. Thanks for all your information.

What did i I said man? I said if your shooting semi-auto only you don't need those crap. For sure at 30 BPS you need some upgrade like the squishy and prolly other stuff can't hurt too, otherwise you will chop paint like there is no tomorrow with the stock paddle at 30 BPS on full auto. Anyway 30 BPS is simply too hard on your wallet! HEHEHE. Even at 13 BPS with my Delta Elite on full auto it is costing me an arm!
Edit: The egrip for the Alpha is coming soon seperatly, Inso simply removed the egrip from one and put it in is other Alpha. Edited by JagdAlex - 18 June 2008 at 3:11pm |

You are correct in assuming that the Alpha basically uses Tippmann internals. (Note: I said "Tippmann" rather than "98C" because all Tippmann internals are very similar although not necessarily interchangeable.) With this in mind there is no reason to replace items such as the stock bolt or power tube because the after-market parts provide no inherent advantage.* As mentioned above, upgrading the Cyclone Feed parts does provide an advantage if the marker is being set up for higher rates of fire. The Lapco Bigshot mentioned above is a very good barrel. It, and the J&J Ceramic are the two barrels most often recommended by members of the forum. *The usage of CO2 is not a reason to replace the stock power tube. |

Ridiculous. I've used C02 exclusively for almost 5 years with my stock internals and have never had a problem. I have yet to see an overwhelming amount of threads here dedicated to C02 damaging Tippmann plastic internals. |
