It depends, do you spoon before or after you fork?

I thought spoons went on the other side of the plate? With the knifes?

of the plate. glass goes directly above spoon. small

That's what I thought.  I was pretty sure spoons went on the other side of the plate.

Fork goes on the left side of the plate, serviette (napkin) in the center of the plate, spoon to right of the plate on the right side of the dinner knife (if using only spoon, fork, and knife for plate setting). Sorry if I'm late answering your question, but I was moving all weekend.

Also, when setting places for multiple courses, the utensils should be placed according to courses so that your guest uses utensils "from the outside inward". i.e. if the fish course is after the salad course, the fish fork is placed to the right of the salad fork. However, if you have salad before entree, you're going to have hell to pay with the wifey when you get back from the ball/embassy/state dinner.

If people started doing that instead;

A) Tallen would have to empty his pm box 4 times a day, and...

B) There would be 90% less threads in T&O

Methinks someone doesn't understand the humor element of the double entendre to this thread...

LOL, you haven't been in the field long enough to
justify that, noob.
