I got this a little over a month ago. I have ambitions of making it lever action. I also want to strip the paint off and polish it to that nice clean brass look. Does anybody know the best way to do this?

Best way to polish it is sandpaper. Start with something about medium grit (find something that works for you) and move to finer and finer paper, before finally wetsanding with extremely fine sandpaper. When done, use a nice brass polish to finish it off.

I'm in middle of this whole process with mine right now, PM me if you want more details or such.

get some paint stripper and let it sit for a while.  use fine grit sand paper to get the rest off.  The paint stripper will help get the paint out of all of the nooks and crannies.

Don't forget the Brasso.

I think mostly for the coolness factor, and besides that I bet the lever could be more efficient in battle than the pump because of the awkwardness caused by the short pump.

ya i played with it the weekend i got it. I think the main reason i didn't like the way it pumped is because I was so used to my phantom's pump feel that by the time I whipped the pgp out it felt uncomfortable.

DONT use sand paper!!!

strip the paint with some oven cleaner or paint stripper. use scotch bright and/or some very fine steel wool.

then finish it up with some brass-o. and clear cote after.
