Hi guys im not so new at paintball ive played for like a year.I have an a-5 and 2 98 customs and an alpha black. the alpha is my newest gun and i would like to know if a red dot sight is worth buying and what kind it would be nice to have it under $30. my second Q is that i took my cyclone hopper off of my 98c and i had to unscrew this little plastic thing and now i dont have the cyclone on it and it is open is this a bad thing or is it ok. THANK YOU!

you are going to get mixed opinions on red dots.  IMO, practice with shooting drills. build on your basic marksmanship skills.

i have a J&J 14" as do some friends, great barrells for the price.  lapco is also a solid barrell from what i hear and only a little more expensive.

as for red dot on ABT, its going to cost you as you'll need rail mount adapter for the handle adn then you'll need offset rails.  my setup ran me 75 bucks from rap4 (look elsewhere though for better quallity imo) my setup didn't line up for crap--had to jerry rig it.

honestly though i would return the NCStar.  They break very easily even from just one hit.  Adco makes a nice one.  As for barrel go J&J or lapco.  They are awesome barrels especially for the price.

I have an Alpha Black also and I went to Wal-Mart and in the outdoor section they had for airsoft a red-dot sight. It was $8 I believe and when you take off the little grip pieces, it's a tight fit on the handle of the AB. The you can use the adjustment screws on the sight to calibrate it and it works fine. It's a single lens deal and not the best, but it worked fine today when I used it for the 1st time.

Also the tank relocation kit is good also. A little expensive at most places, but I'd rather have the tank on my back then holding it on the big gun to begin with.

or you could all save some money and go with a proto barrel and a BACK KIT  which is what you really need to be accurate anyway!!!!

If you like J&J and go for it.  It may require some electrical tape inside the front sight just to keep it from moving as the J&J is thinner than the stock barrel just because the stock barrel has a very thick wall.  As for kits such as mentioned above, if you really have the desire to get a kit may i recommend the J&J kit.  It is one of the best ones on the market in my opinion.  i have used it for my A5 and my Autococker and it is a thing of beauty with how accurate it is. If you just want a simple barrel though go with the J&J or Lapco.  They are the best bang for the buck and yes if it fits a 98 it will fit the alpha.

A new player has no need for an expensive barrel kit.  Frankly, while I have barrel kits for both my Sniper pump and my Autococker, they are more for preventing "roll-out" than adding to accuracy.  Most people can buy either a J&J Ceramic or Lapco Bigshot barrel and never need any other barrel.  The slight advantage that a barrel kit provides is really not that noticeable in recreational play.  Additionally, if someone is playing at a level where they do need that minescule additional accuracy; they are probably not using a Tippmann.

If you haven't checked out this sticky, I suggest you do so.  A little searching will lead to other useful posts as well.

Remember no matter what you do your paintball marker will only be so "accurate".  Have you zeroed it in yet and where are the pictures!? LOL
