So, I got a "new" toy. Kinda. As I'm sure you guys know, I'm attempting to narrow my collection to one semi and one pump. My pump is gonna be my Redux, but I'm still searching for the "perfect" semi. Thus far, I can't get over my love for 'cockers.

In light of that, I wanted my semi to be something that accurately reflected my personality on the field. I wanted it to be something that had seen years of service, something I can restore and modify to my whim. So I found this:

It cost me $30 shipped, and included pre-2K spec. front and back blocks. No, I don't know what the engraving means. I do know it's a Thai Buddhist prayer medallion.

This body is a '95, as far as I can tell. It's from the height of the 'Cocker v. 'Mag wars. It's from a time before electros and cheater boards and BPS caps. It's from a time when 'cockers were more accurate because they were closed bolt, and 'mags were blenders (). It's seen almost 14 years of play, and I'm gonna put it through more.

My goal is to not restore it, but modernize it. It will be the sweetest mech I can build. AKA internals and pneus, slider frame, the works. It will be milled and anodized. It will most likely get shot, scratched and dropped soon after. But it will always be from the height of mechanical paintball, and it will always have its history.

I can't wait to build it up.

If you do, make sure you let me know first. I may have to, you know, like assist you in selling it or something...

But yeah, I can't wait to see you finish this thing. I want to get a pre-2K 'Cocker once I get situated with building my main one.

That body could be upwards of a 97. No way to tell for sure, they didnt change the body until 98 I believe. Thats exactly the same style that the AutoClocker started out as.

Im available for contract milling

Actually, the serial number is 2 something. I'll have to verify what year it is, but you can date a 'cocker by the number.

Also, note the lack of detent. :)

Edit: I'll toss my design your way when I'm done with it. See if you're up to it. :P

Edit 2: Yep. Just checked the number. It's a '95.

Blaspmamy how dare you insult the MAGS. INFACT if you really wanted the "perfect" mech semi you Should have got a MAG

Naw all things considering i like cockers and kinda want to get one to mess with.  Of course i will NEVER sell my good OLD classic Mag.

But seriously Even a lvl 7 bolt classic mag is no worse on chopping than a cocker both can be short stroked and as long as ya dont short stroke you wont break paint.  Only differance is with a mech Mag you still have the option of upgrading to a LVL 10 bolt and chops will be non existant even if you short stroke.  I have had my current Classic valved mag since new in the 90's and it never been a blender.  It started out stock i upgraded to the lvl 10 then switched back to a lvl 7 for simplicity/efficancy and still have no troubles.

I knew one of you 'maggots would pop out sooner or later! I was just messing around, just reiterating the big arguments of the '90's. :)

i wish i knew how to do half of what you want to do to that.  sounds sweet.  As for the cocker vs the mags i love em both.  Good luck with that nice little project though.  I cant wait to see the end result.

If you're serious, and DeTrev doesn't want to bother, I'd be willing to take a peek.

Thanks Yomillio, but the local witch doctor(proshop) is fixing it.

Reminds me of that one TWB where doc slid an ion body over a cocker to fix the ion.

SSOK: I've seen many people claim to be a "'cocker doctor." Do you trust this guy? If you'd have paid shipping, I'd have taken a look at it for you for free...

If he can't fix it, let me know.

Yomillio: SCM's aren't exactly gloss. They're kind of a mix of gloss and dust. Very unique finish that would go well with dust and gloss finishes.

Ekeboo: It's a good reg! Not top of the line, but a great reg, and one of the few true gloss regs out there... Have you looked for a gloss Tickler LPR?

Well, to be honest, they were only marketed as their high-end. All WGP LPR's are essentially the same. What made the Ticklers so nice is that they were externally adjustable.

And to be honest, they were good LPR's. I mean, they were on the Karni, and it never had any recharge problems. And it's probably the most decent LPR you'll be able to find in gloss black.

I'm pretty sure the site I linked you too before also had a gloss black Belsales Evolution LPR. Very expensive, but if you want to spend that kind of cash its a top of the line LPR.
